Can't use weed and dope to kill other people.  Only yourself.  It's why bullets & guns have stiffer rules.

Actually many people are dead because others chose to use weed and operate machinery, like cars, trains, buses, etc....  I have lost friends to "weed".  They are dead.....

And bullets and guns save more lives than they take in this country every year.   Fact, look it up....  DGU's in America.....

Who here believes that if the NRA was disbanded today, that we'd see any reduction in gun deaths?

Folks on the left act like they're some kind of Boogeyman that makes people shoot other people.

You could stop selling any more guns today and gun deaths will continue unabated.

It takes a person to make a gun operate. Not the NRA or gun dealers

Actually I believe what is proven, the historical record, the evidence, I do the math, solve the equation.  Then I believe the results, I have too, whether I like them or not.....   If I believed what I "want" then I would just be another clueless, liberal snowflake thinking AGW was real and that a democrat had a chance of becoming POTUS in 2020.   Oh, and in Unicorns covered in glitter and that it is a good idea to climb Mt. Everest.    Chris

Sorry pal.  I was up close and personal with guns/bullets.  Don't like 'em.  After you've pulled a bullet out of a gut with a bare finger, come see me.  Otherwise, I ain't interested in your evidence.

Not sure what your point is? Do you have one? While I respect your experience, it has absolutely zero to do with any gun debate being offered. Any person who has pulled body parts from a plane wreck or auto accident or remains from a fire could rail against those things (aircraft, autos and fire). Doesn't change the statistics, nor their benefit to society.  Life is not peerfect. People are not perfect. GOVERNMENT is about as far from perfect as can be.  Still, as Churchill once said,

"‘Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…’"

A citizenry with the RIGHT to bear arms is not a perfect solution, but it is better than the alternative (ask a Venezuelan)...

Hey brother, if you have done that and been there in service of our country I have no argument with you....  Have had a few, more than a few high powered projectiles wizz by my noggin, a few in real life, not cool as I had my 9 month old kid with me and my wife.....  I still remember that chromed 357 magnum pointing my way, more importantly, towards my kid and my wife.....  Gone, baby gone and quickly....!  We got out of there and so quick....!    But most of the pucker moments are from range, in the pitts, marking targets at 600, 800, and 1000 meters for the high power shoots that we go to that nobody shoots back....  Hi power rifles....     Sac Valley shooting center.....     But of course I was safely behind concrete.....    It is a total reality check when you see the bullet impact the ground behind you and a second later you hear the supersonic crack, the buzz, the snap, that crack....!  And the ground kicking up behind you and realizing you would never hear the bullet that killed you....!  Anyway, finger, body, remove bullet, I just hope you had a rubber glove on or the medivacs started anti-biotics right away...?  Anyway, good on you if you have "been there and done that" .....   Seen the "Elephant" as they say.............?  Not me, my Dad and Uncles did it so I did not have too.............       Regards, Chris

NRA meltdown has Trump campaign sweating

Republicans worry that the NRA and two other groups that have long formed the core of their electoral infrastructure will be effectively on the sidelines.

https://www.politico...ampaign-1395970

Now, the gun rights group is in total meltdown —
and senior Republicans and Trump 2020 officials are alarmed.      :lmaosmiley:

In recent weeks, the NRA has seen everything from a failed coup attempt to the departure of its longtime political architect to embarrassing tales of self-dealing by top leaders. The turmoil is fueling fears that the organization will be profoundly diminished heading into the election, leaving the Republican Party with a gaping hole in its political machinery.

With the Chamber of Commerce and Koch political network withdrawing from their once-dominant roles in electing conservatives, Republicans worry that three organizations that have long formed the core of their electoral infrastructure will be effectively on the sidelines.

DC attorney general subpoenas NRA financial records in nonprofit investigation

https://thehill.com/...n-investigation

The office of Washington, D.C., Attorney General Karl A. Racine has issued subpoenas for documents including financial records from the National Rifle Association (NRA) and its foundation as part of a probe into whether the organizations violated the city's Nonprofit Act.

“The Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia has issued subpoenas to the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) and the NRA Foundation, Inc., as part of an investigation into whether these entities violated the District’s Nonprofit Act," Racine said in a statement Friday.

"We are seeking documents from these two nonprofits detailing, among other things, their financial records, payments to vendors and payments to officers and directors,” he added.

Authorities also subpoenaed documents on payments to the entities' vendors and officers.

Thoughtful response, Joe. Thanks

Here's one liberal's thoughts.

You get guns mostly for one reason: FEAR.

Fear that a burglar will attack your home.

Fear that the government will turn against you.

And what is that fear based on: preservation of your body.

So now, they believe, by bringing a gun into the home that this will save the body.

A gun is designed to DESTROY a body.

Now you have an instrument of bodily destruction in your home.

And more important, in your daily consciousness.

There's an entire gestalt of fear, blood, bodily damage, revenge, and vulnerability that goes with it.

I dunno . . . sounds like a losing proposition to me.

Wouldn't you rather have the protection of loving relationships as your shield?

Your entire premise is based on a fallacy.  people do not buy guns from fear. They are a TOOL. Just as an insurance policy is a tool, or a security system is a tool, or learning self defense is a tool (ALL of which I have in my toolbox).  I have these tools not from fear, but from precaution. I like having tools for life. My "shield" to protect myself and my family is my preparedness and competence in a crisis. No fear.  Well....bears and the IRS, but other than that....

Yet ANOTHER mass killing.

Yet ANOTHER gun nut.

Yet ANOTHER AK47.

Yet ANOTHER white nationalist!

Disturbing portrait emerges of Gilroy Garlic Festival shooter

He also posted a photo of a Smokey Bear sign warning about fire danger, with a caption instructing people to read an obscure novel glorified by white supremacists: “Might Is Right” published under the pseudonym Ragnar Redbeard.

Trump is beyond genius if you ask me.

He attacks the most obvious and serious problems facing Americans and the liberals do backflips defending the indefensible.

He simply calls out the TRUTH about...

Open borders and illegal immigration
The squad's racist hatred of America and Israel
Baltimore and it's record crime and filth.

... and suddenly the Dems RUN to be seen as the party of Socialism, Open borders and criminals.

They just aren't smart enough to deal with the Master!!!

3 dead is not a mass killing, I think 8 were killed in Chicago that day alone...

A nut yes, a gun nut.....?   I think he owned only two guns.

My WW2 rifles are way more deadly than the WASR-10 that he used (AKM-Clone).

A real AK is fully automatic by the way but I did not expect you to know that let alone the liberal MSM.

One reference to a book deemed "racist" makes you think this Iranian-Italian American kid was a white supremacist....?

And if he was why were two of his three victims white....?

Stop being silly please...
