Just thought I would share the news, for those who haven't seen this about Zittel Farm...

http://www.sacbee.co...ry/1228389.html

Sad. Up until about two weeks ago I was buying their fresh tomatoes for a dollar a pound! Glad no one was hurt though.

I'm so sorry to hear about the barn fire. Glad Folsom Fire was able to keep it contained. Poor barn animals, though. I love getting pumpkins from the Zittels.

Zittel's Farm has always been a family favorite, year after year. It never disappoints!

We pass Zittel's farm daily and often stop to greet the (small) white donkey -- I hope he is okay.

Kudos to the Folsom Fire Department in containing the fire.

The article said that they stopped doing dried gourds last year. That's news to me. Seems like they always have bins of gourds out when I drive by. The gourd festival is going to be kinda pathetic if there aren't any local gourds to get.

The Zittels are a great family. Their son Kent is my neighbor. Very sad news.

That barn was an eye sore.

I always feel sorry for that donkey......

And in todays financial climate and the rumors that have been circulating about that farm....My first thought about that fire was: cogs.

But I wouldn't wish a fire on anyone's home or property and I hope it was not what it sounds like.

I stand corrected it's not just the News10 people that are being jerks.
To say your post is repulsive would be an understatement. Posting something like you posted above, your "speculation" really should have been kept to yourself

We are sorry to hear about this fire at Zittels, and wish the family the best in rebuilding.

The annual Folsom Gourd and Arts Festival will NOT be affected. Zittel's no longer grows gourds, and they stopped growing them in the last few years. Many of the local gourd artists purchase their gourds from Leiser Farms in Knights Landing. For the first time, Leisers will be selling their gourds at this year's festival. For more information, please visit the festival website at www.FolsomGourdFestival.com

Even if there are gourds, I mean come on. A snowman carved out of a gourd? Gimme a break. I think the pumpkins are cheaper at Raley's too.
