There have been VERY low flying helicopters around here up by the prison for the last half hour or so. Something going on over there?

Do they have buckets on them? I wonder if they are water crews fighting that grass fire up in Redding?

Water. Big lake.

I don't know. Just a guess. Do they have a water agreement with the state in which lakes they pull from--?
I would guess part of it would be volume of lake, and distance from fire. Probably wind sheer and visibility. Again, just guessing, I have no idea what the policies are for. But I haven't heard of any may hunts going on.

I just saw on the news that the turbine engine driven jet boats have been approved for races in the "Granite Bay" side of the Lake. Maybe they are doing a story over there? I guess the boats haven't been there in nearly 30 years.

Water. Big lake.

Lake Shasta, bigger lake, closer to fire, makes no sense for them to fly helicopters > 200 miles round trip for water, heck the ocean is closer to Redding than Folsom Lake.

I think we might as well get used to low flying helicopters in Folsom.

It seems we have become quite the hub of criminal activity here, in our little town.
