So far, I am not really excited about any of them. Lots of $$$$$$ will be spent, but the new Gov will be useless because the Legislature is useless. Last I checked, the legislature had something like a 13-14% approval rate and the governor Arnold had about 19%.

So all these millions that will be spent and the endless rhetoric is all for show. At the end, whomever prevails will have their hands tied by the useless lawmakers in Sacramento.

Sadly I agree with you, but the big question is WHO do you want the useless lawmakers to be tying their hands with?

Its scares the Hades out of me to have Jerry Brown as Governor with this collection of lawmakers! Then again, maybe that would bring us to insolvency faster, so we can get on the right track sooner.

I mean take a look at last few governors as they have all been dismal failures. IN fact, I cannot recall the last popular CA Governor?? Reagan? I know its wasn't the past 5-6 in my adult life.

I agree with you. Bring on the insolvency quicker if nothing else. I mean the casinos and others were pouring $$ into Brown even before he officially declared and Whitman and Poizner have crazy $$ war chest. Most regular folks will be tricked into thinking that the next Ca Gov can make an ounce of differnce with this crimminal gang in sacramento. I am just waiting to see when the approval ratings for the legislature goes under 10%.

yet people still elect them or elect them by NOT voting.

The MOST important thing to look into about any candidate, is who's payroll they are on.... Most are being "paid" via campaign donations by the unions for whom they return the favor by ensuring they get everything they want (at tax payer expense), such as huge pensions etc.

So far the ONLY candidate not on the take is Meg Whitman (as far as I know)

If moonbeam gets elected you can expect increased taxes, increased social programs, increased spending on unnecessary programs and much much more of what we don't need happening in this state.

I fear for the future

That's excactly what Arnie had said when he walked out of Leno's stage and met the reporters. I got plenty of my own money and would not depend on special interests....for him special interest meant unions...money from corporate lobbyists was OK...McClintock was drawing money from the casinos in the recall elections...gosh, Jerry Brown...go away

So, I have a hard time believing she will be any different...

If for no other reason than the unions are dumping between 20-40 million dollars in anti-Whitman adds (and that's only in the primary), I will vote for her.

Please God, no more libs in California politics, we're overloaded with enough already. Davis failed, Arnie wasn't even a real Republican, we're still owed a real politician who will work for the people not for the people paying bribes

try for a minute to stop being a blind party lemming and think about the big picture and what's best for California instead of just your political party

Heard an ad from Howard Jarvis singing peaens to Meg....while she's using her money to burn Poizner....

Am pretty sure some special interest is providing the funds to Howard Jarvis....

That tells me she's same as Arnie...

I didn't know Meg was married into the heart & soul of the Democratic Party, the Kennedy Klan.

Show me proof she is, and then I'll agree, she's just like Arnie, but if she doesn't have a hard-core liberal left bending her ear with pillow talk, then she isn't the same as Arnie.

BTW, she got to where she is by running a big business (using her brain), not by being Mr. Universe & Mr. Olympia for many years to then break into show business just because of his "perfect" body, and was fortunate to graduate from Conan, the barbarian into a hit movie series, the Terminator. I'm not faulting him on his successes, but from a leadership role, Arnie had nowhere near the experience of a Meg Whitman.

As far as I am concerned, once again it will be the "lesser of the evils". None of them inspire my confidence to get anything accomplished, especially with the idiots in the Legislature. I think Poizner is the least offensive but I don't trust him either. On the other hand "Governor Moonbeam" is about the last person on earth I would vote for. wacko.gif

Not if we vote out all incumbents and load the state legislature with 3rd party candidates.

That would give rise to a new way of thinking for politicians.
