Good freaking grief.  Over 300 million people to choose from and these two asshats are the best we can do? We are so scroomed.

These two asshats are the best we can do?

Well, it's OK to vote for the lesser of two evils...hey, it's the hand we've been dealt...deal with it.

One of them is clearly more of an asshat than the other...one of them is surrounded by corruption (taking BIG donation$ from banks and foreign Govts for 20 minute "speeches" while being Secretary of State)...one of them is embroiled in a criminal probe of her home-made email server...one of them lies at the drop of a hat (a "video" caused the deaths of the guys in Benghazi)...one of them botched Libya and the Middle East and enabled ISIS, etc, to thrive...one of them panders constantly to blacks (I carry hot sauce in my purse)...one of them blamed the women when it became clear that her husband is a serial abuser and likely rapist...one of them flip flops when it's convenient (I love and support the coal industry)...and one of them would be the continuation of the massive debt, destructive policies, and dictatorship of Obama...

In a nutshell, one of them is a corrupt, immoral human being...and typical establishment politician...and pathological liar.

Care to guess who I'm talking about ??

Yes, I realize some people will gloss over this and dismiss it as *partisan*. Isn't that great...did you hear that?...all the truths stated above are *partisan*.

Yep, the continued moral decline of a once great country, brought to you by the radical, leftist "anything goes" Democrat party.

Here's the coal story, for those of you who are clueless about this awful woman:

Couple of thoughts...

-  Presidential paradox - Anyone smart enough to run the country is also smart enough to know they don't want the job.  Hence, mediocrity in gov't.

-  The obstructionist politics practiced in Washington over the past 7 years has created the image of a "do nothing" government.  Makes the situation ripe for an outsider to come in and shake things up.  Mr. Trump knows it and is taking advantage.

-  Corporate America thought the Citizens United decision would give them license to decide elections just by throwing tons of $$$ at their chosen "friendly" candidates.  The strategy is a total disaster.  Substantial $$$ have been spent trying to stop Mr. Trump and it hasn't work.  It still seems money can't buy elections.  Good news for citizen voter.

-  However, once a candidate is elected, money still influences decisions.  Lobbyists still rule the roost in Washington.  Since lobbying is part of the Bill of Rights, it's a problem that will be difficult to fix.

-  The ideals of the Republican Party no longer align with those of American citizens in general.  The GOP has been losing on major social issues for a couple decades now.  They lost on flag burning.  They lost on Roe v Wade.  They lost on school prayer.  They lost on gay marriage.  And will soon lose on bathroom gender issues.  For whatever reasons, the GOP has not been able to reinvent itself to keep up with the times.  The result will be similar to the demise of the dinosaur.  Fragmented 3rd and 4th parties will likely replace it.  We're moving toward the European model where most countries have 5-6 political parties.

-  If selected, Mrs.Clinton will not win in November.  The country isn't ready for a female president yet.

Vote   TRUMP...

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

The Clinton's are so evil....!   Their machine, their "Foundation".   Hillary, locked up the super delegates two years ago....   Poor Bernie, one, that he has no chance and two that he is dumb as a box of hammers...... But yet a lovable and sincere socialist without a clue.   Democrats, you are the most corrupt party.   Don't you see it....?   I think there is a surprise coming to the national press, the pollsters, and this country when they see they have "the Donald" as their President some Wednesday morning in the near future. God help us all, but yet better than the Hildabeast by a mile...........    Chris

The country is not ready for a female president yet, Grumpy old Guy?! We are behind the times on this. Many other countries have had female leaders, including Margaret Thatcher and Angela Merkel. It is embarrassing that we are followers instead of leaders in this area.

Really curious what the GOP is going to do. They have to mastermind a way to get rid of Trump. Now a bunch of party leaders are saying they won't attend the nominating convention. What good will that do? Don't they need to get in there and make some rule changes to put forward a respectable candidate?

Oh, so many thanks for your critique and *concern* for the GOP.

Now go ahead and give us your critique of the problems/issues with the Democrat party. Or does your cult-like allegiance to the Democrat party prevent you from doing that? By the way, I heard that your monthly dues payment to the *Climate Change Believers Club* was overdue. Pay up, deadbeat, or they will have you arrested and charged with a crime!

A woman President??...not anytime soon...especially if it's a Democrat/Progressive/Leftist/Socialist. This country is way too smart to do that. That's why even a newcomer like Trump will beat Clinton. That's what many polls are showing now. And she's too *moody, irrational, unpredictable, unstable, and temperamental* to have her finger on the nuclear button. :shades:

No, it's not a war on women...it's a war on CORRUPT, DISHONEST, AND CRIMINAL women. Deal with it.

Bordercolliefan - I'm all for a female leader.  Most female leaders in history have been very effective.  Notables from just recent history (400 yrs) - Queen Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great, Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir, and as you mention Merkel and Thatcher.  I believe females can be better leaders because they don't let "macho" get in the way of critical thinking.  Sadly, the reason women have not flourished in politics (IMHO) goes back 10,000's of years to the earliest civilizations who simply beat their women into submission because they were physically inferior in the strength department.  They just couldn't fight back.  That mentality persists in some parts of the world even today.  And I believe hints of it remain in American society.  Enough so a woman probably won't win the presidency for a little while.  Eventually, we will have a female prez, tho.

Aces - your adjectives "moody, irrational, unpredictable, unstable, and temperamental" can easily be applied to Mr. Trump also.  I certainly hope you don't consider those to be virtues when applied to Mr. Trump. And just a few incidents that reveal the malfunctions in the GOP:

-  The GOP started with 17 potential candidates and ended with Mr. Trump.  The party machine is seriously broken.

-  The GOP-led congress has not been able to get anything done in the last 2 years.  They've earned the moniker "do-nothing".

-  The GOP owns state legislatures and state governorships in 30 states and they haven't been able to get anything done either.

I'm not a big fan of either political party, or the political process in general.  But looking back at the election cycle in 2012, one thing has stuck in my mind.  The Democratic campaign very effectively used social media to bring home a win.  The Republican campaign was still using FAX machines.  The GOP needs to get out of the Reagan era and come into this century if they want to survive.

The Democrat Party needs to get out of the Clinton era and come into this century if they want to survive.

See what I did there? See how that works? Wise up, old man. You have tunnel vision. :beverage:

Aces,  take a long step back and look at both parties equally.  Notice who seems to be the preponderance of GOP members - older white guys.  Notice who seems to be the preponderance of the Dems - minorities, women, and young adults.  Which group will be shrinking, and which will be growing?  The future seems clear.  There are parts about it I don't like, but I'm only one vote.  So IMHO, the prudent approach is to adapt...and avoid perish.

Well, it's the old school "older white guys" who are paying all the bills right now.......  Them and all their old school black and hispanic brothers who went to war in Vietnam, came home, bought a house and worked hard to make their living, made sure their kids went to college, just like everybody else.....   The new electorate does not see it, this new bread of "takers".  They think something is owed to them...   Like the Bernie crowd.   When they all go away, the old school producers of all colors, die, move away, then the bill becomes due and there is no "tax base" to pay for all of the free stuff that the new "Dems - minorities, women, and young adults...." have voted for these last thirty years....   Anyway, more riots, more windows broken in Berkeley and all over..........   Can't wait....!   I hope the police bring out the batons in spades and teach them a real lesson.   Chris

Actually the people paying the bills are the educated, hip, 30-something tech workers who are paying $2,500 a month for studios in San Francisco and Palo Alto with money to spare on trendy restaurants and cool gadgets.

A lot of the older white guys are the takers... guys whose nest egg is pretty modest compared to the social security and Medicare they are drawing for 30+ years.

I'm not begrudging the old folks... they paid their dues and simply want what was promised to them. I'm just saying, let's be accurate about where the real engine of the economy is.

Bordercolliefan - I concur.

Every month in the AARP magazine, there's an article about the number of 50 year-olds and older who have saved absolutely $0 for retirement.  And the number of them is huge.  In the next 25 years, something like 45% of people retiring will have nothing more than social security to live on.  They will be looking to federal, state, and local gov't to fill their income gaps in any way possible.

Also agree about educated 30 somethings being the economic engine of the future.  Our kids fit that definition exactly.  All highly educated, highly employed, and highly compensated.  Our generation hasn't made their lives any better or easier.  And looking at the choices for prez this time around, it appears we're leaving them a huge bucket of crap.  When they figure it out, they're gonna be p*ssed.

That's hilarious....!  You mean the Hipsters.....?   The one's who can't change a tire on their car or change out the pads on their front disc brakes, can't fix a leaking faucet, can't dig a post hole if their life depended on it, never shot a gun or would even know how to handle one, could not set up a simple home sprinkler system, no a scar on their body from sports or that nasty bicycle accident when they were twelve, never had a callus on their very soft hands from hard manual labor........?  The ones all sitting at a table in Starbucks ignoring each other while staring into their phones, vaping out front...?   Them...?   Educated, maybe in college but not in real life.  You need to do both to be well rounded.  You have to be kidding me, Hipsters...!   If you are paying $2500 a month to live in a studio in a bad part of San Francisco where you have to park 6 blocks away every night and get your Prius busted into every month you are not Hip at all.....!   That's just plain dumb....!   And I was born in SF, lived there, worked in Palo Alto for years.  I don't think you have a clue.   Chris
