Because of its proximity to the sun, Venus receives 93% more solar radiation than Earth. Double the radiation and 58 day long days.  Hardly a "habitable" environment. Nearly zero axial tilt means no seasons. Just 58 day long days followed by 58 day long nights. A very extreme swing in temperatures to be sure!! Not only that, but the extreme temperature differential between night and day would create insane weather events along the terminator.

 

then again, they did use the same computer models that have (inaccurately) modeled our planet sooooo....

An interesting read on the "poor Alaskans" having to move (due to "climate change").  Pretty simple really. Barrier islands ALWAYS change. Whether in Norway, the Carolinas or Alaska.  Silly to blame a natural process on man...

I guess it could just be coincidence about The Inuit villages starting to have forced relocation...it's nice to think that it's not related, but please google permafrost melting and check out the bbc and American mainstream news groups and see what they have to say. It's can't all be happening at once due to a coincidence. Read bout what the melting permafrost is doing to the atmosphere too.

Again. The Earth is warming. No doubt about it. The hysteria around every storm, drought, or change of any kind in the Earth is what bothers me. It is a mantra, often based on nothing but a claim man is to blame. The permafrost melt =release of CO2 is a theory that is not supported by evidence of CO2 monitoring. In fact, CO2 levels tend to go DOWN in the summer (most likely plant growth is a carbon sink). And summertime is when the permafrost is potentially able to thaw. Alaska readings of CO2 are consistent  with Keeling data. Also, it must have been warm indeed in the arctic to have locked up that much biomass, which again shows that a warm arctic is nothing new. When the permafrost melts, there will be nutrient rich soil for plants to grow in. Growing plants absorb CO2. Nature is awesome!

GoG, you are just another major leftist climate clown with a progressive political agenda............!    Global warming fan boy....!    Get over it.......   Nothing to see here folks, nothing to worry about........   Has happened before we humans ever existed.....!    Will happen long after we are gone to dust...........   What about that do you not understand.,,,,?   Has nothing to do with us.....   Sad that you keep trying to scare the sheep here that do not know any science......    And I do know my science, and in spades, that pesky Geology degree back in the mid 1980's seems to haunt me at times like this trying to explain to unknowing, uneducated in the sciences people like you who know nothing about this stuff but believe in your scientific, liberal, leftist, climate fantasies...........    We are not that important or influential by any means to the Earths climate.    Explain the chart below and I will listen to you....   If you don't then I won't.   Explain to me why CO2 ppm was at about 1800 ppm just a 100 million years ago........?  Before we humans existed.........   Argument over.....!  You lose..........   Look to the Sun my unknowing friend, the answer is there, not on Earth.   It's all about the Sun.   Anything else from you....?   I think not. Oh Homer, you can do better than that......!   Funny though.   So does this mean that CO2 is not your evil God anymore....?    Are you opening your mind to all the other important gasses and molecules in our complex Earth system....?   So many of them in this complex system we call weather........     Water vapor, the Sun....... Start looking to the Sun and water vapor and you might just put this altogether like the rest of us have.  I know what is going on.   You, and the rest of you climate clowns really don't have a clue.   Sad that you put your political agenda up front and then pick and chose the science to support it while ignoring all other data.  You are old enough by now to know this is a very bad thing.   Chris
