Here's something you might not know.

In 1936, Carvel was the first to introduce the marketing concept “Buy One Get One Free.”
http://www.carvel.com/pr_timeline.asp

For 70 years now every Wednesday is Sundae at Carvel Ice Cream.

Buy one Classic Sundae at regular price and get the second one FREE (soft serve only; free Sundae of equal or lesser value).

NO COUPONS REQUIRED. Just show up and order today!

yes, there were lots of customers in today. They believe Wednesday is Sundae.

Actually I was referring to if Carvel was indeed the first company to introduce the "Buy one get one free" concept into marketing, not whether Wednesday is sundae day.

It's brand new... in the complex where the Century theaters are, right next to Folsom Karate Academy.

We made our first visit to Carvel/Cinnabon the other evening. OMG! What a wonderful place! And I have to say the young woman working the counter was a real kick! She knew her stuff and was excited to tell us all about the history of the ice cream - she was really into it and we were charmed! Spouse had the blackberry ice cream and I had a pecan cinnabon.

Good job Brett!

I just had to add that the ice cream cakes are KILLER! My family is all back east in NY and we always have a gigantic Carvel ice cream cake when we get together. I never liked the ice cream cakes out here. Carvel has no cake in their cakes. I've never understood ice cream with frozen, stale-tasting cake.

Try it - you'll never go back to the "other" ice cream cake. :-)

Again, thank you.

we just got signoff from the City on our sign. we had to change designs due to our non-conformity to Folsom's regs and the local CC&R's that govern our center. frustrating to say the least.

the sign should be up in a few short weeks now (2-3). what a fiasco.
