Last night I had one of the best football experiences ever.

I watched it with a couple of friends at the Folsom Lake Bowl Sports bar.

They've got wall to wall TV's, cheap drinks, 50 cent wings and a great staff.

We're telling stories about our Candlestick experiences, laughing and having a great time. By half time, we're complaining about the 49er's lackluster performance, the bad calls, slips and falls, dropped passes, and sacks. It was dismal.

In the second half, the mood changed. The Niners seemed to move the ball at will, and there some spectacular throws, catches, runs and tackles.

By the 4th quarter we're talking about the possibility of them taking the division and top seed in the playoffs. They can do it!

Moments later, after they gave up a touchdown and failed to recover the on-side kick, we're moaning about how they may not even make the playoffs. How Arizona just beat Seattle and they're a tough team. We were spreading doom and gloom, and little hope.

Suddenly the interception and run-back for the win and everyone was screaming, high-fiving strangers, and saying things like, 'I KNEW they'd do it!', 'They're gonna take the division and go all the way!' What a game!

I was emotionally drained.

The folks in Arizona were probably also drained too.

My next door neighbor went to the game. I haven't heard anything from him yet.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-
