After years of careful planning, some construction delays, and a few private events,  Willamette Wineworks is now open to the public!

Occupying the top floor of the new Round House building in Folsom's Historic District (Scott Seafood opens on the bottom floor next month), Willamette Wine Works offers unique wine experiences, from tastings, food pairings, wines by the glass, blending and club memberships.

I attended a preview party that raised over $4000 for Friends of Folsom CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) a couple of weeks back, and I can tell you this is a beautiful place.

Enjoy wine in the main room, with seated service at tables and couches, or take it outside to their wrap around balcony, with views of the Historic District.

This outpost of the company's winery in Oregon will feature 11 wines by the glass, 3 tasting flights, wine by the bottle, and 3 different wine clubs, and unique 'blend-your-own' experience where you can great your own custom blend to drink by the glass or take a bottle home.

The facility also has a meeting room for private events.

The building itself is a recreation of historic railroad depot 'round houses' that serviced rail cars. This one was built by Jeremy Bernau, brother of the founder of Willamette Wineworks, who is responsible for the entire 'Railroad Block' redevelopment.

This is sure to be a hot spot in the Historic District, and another addition to the long list of things that make Folsom unique, and great.

Now open Wednesday through Sunday, 2pm to 9pm, but will start opening at 11am once Scott's Seafood opens.

Go check it out!
