Collision kills one, closes Blue Ravine Road

One person was killed Wednesday when two vehicles crashed and went up in flames on Blue Ravine Road, prompting the street to be shut down in both directions, police said.

According to reports, the incident has resulted in one fatality and two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital. Emergency units were dispatched at 11:48 p.m. to the incident Blue Ravine Road, just south of East Bidwell Street.

Blue Ravine Road is expected to be closed between Riley and East Bidwell for several hours while the scene is under investigation, according to police.

It is recommened that motorists choose alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion in the area. No additional information is available at this time.

isn't that a kind of dangerous stretch of road?  seems like there have been a lot of accidents there.

YES, but speed and weather conditions.  Slow down people.
