The way a great and responsible President acts:

President Harry Truman.   "The buck stops here"

The way an incompetent idiot of a President acts:

Donald J Trump.  "I'm not responsible for that"

Trump is looking, acting and talking like a complete idiot and someone who is in middle stages of dementia.  You idiots can keep defending him and trashing anyone who calls him out on his stupidity.  I'm done!  I'm not in fact moving to Folsom and sold my house there 4 years ago.  So, I'm out and glad to not live in a community where such idiocy runs rampant.

Byeee!

Good, glad you moved.......   Now another village gained a second idiot.   Did you not move to New Zealand or was that some other idiot democrat here I can't remember, tossed in their cards and bailed...?   Anyway, hope you and yours are not affected by this event, stay safe, stay cool, and be sure to let us know later how much you hate us all here in Folsom, at least those of us who have not drank the democratic party coolaid....... Check back in in a month.  We will see...  Oh, and Trump will still be your POTUS, then, and for another 4 more years I am pretty sure....   Chris

Trump Ratings Remain Low Around Globe, While Views of U.S. Stay Mostly Favorable

Trump foreign policies receive little support

https://www.pewresea...stly-favorable/

As has been the case throughout his presidency, U.S. President Donald Trump receives largely negative reviews from publics around the world. Across 32 countries surveyed by Pew Research Center, a median of 64% say they do not have confidence in Trump to do the right thing in world affairs, while just 29% express confidence in the American leader.

Tio Vinny, do you realize you are only listening to the left side of the news, the progressives, the European leftist-socialists............   This is your only "news"........   Trust me, this is not the real news.  And if you do not believe me you will be surprised once again when he is elected, once again, as your POTUS in November of 2020.  The Russians and Chinese, the Europeans, all want him gone......   This tells me he is doing his job well.  Heck, they all loved Obummer......   This told me he was weak and ineffective.........  A "wimp" as they say in Russia...........  A "zanudnyy",  занудный in Russian...  Trump is no "zanudnyy"

Mays' post was a perfect example of someone with severe TDS that thinks his opinion actually means something in the real world.

He closed an office dedicated to pandemic preparedness. Their job was to keep watch and stay ahead of emergencies
But whatever, guess it doesnt matter. You didnt see it on Fox News, so it must be fake news, right?

And other things he has Done
Shutting down the entire global-health-security unit of the National Security Council.

Eliminating the US government's $30 million Complex Crises Fund.

Reducing national health spending by $15 billion.

Please cite all your evidence......  In links so we can read and decide if you are telling us the truth.

All CNN, MSNBC, NPR, The Beast, Salon, ABC, Sac Bee, CBS, WaPo, NY Times sources of course......   Yep, all the "real" news sources..

FOX and the WSJ you can leave out if you like but might be beneficial to your argument.

Come on, prove it.  I dare you.  Otherwise it's just the MSM, the DNC opinion, or your opinion, which I value of course....(?)   But you gotta prove it, or at least make a good argument.

Blah, blah, blah. Trump, trump, Trump. Yawn. Could he have handled it better? Yes. Could he have handled it worse? yes. The bigger questions inmy mind are why the bloated agencies responsible for the preparedness of events like this so flat footed? Trump did not establish those agencies, nor has he directed their agenda for the last decades.

S Korea had a pretty good model for processes to use in events like this.  Why didn't we have something similar?  The CDC has been around for 74 years.  You'd think they would have a strategy by now...

The CDC started with a budget of 1 million (13 million in 2020 dollars). Current budget is up under Trump almost 10% to 7.7 billion.

here is the role of ONE of the the CDC Centers:

Deputy Director - Public Health Service and Implementation Science

  • Office of Minority Health and Health Equity
  • Center for Global Health
  • Center for Preparedness and Response
  • Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territory Support

With 15,000 employees, maybe if they focused on priority for EVERYONE"S health preparedness instead of politically correct topics, they would be more effective.

Oops. According to Tim Morrison (Senior NSC official at the time),

"It has been alleged by multiple officials of the Obama administration, including in The Post, that the president and his then-national security adviser, John Bolton, “dissolved the office” at the White House in charge of pandemic preparedness. Because I led the very directorate assigned that mission, the counterproliferation and biodefense office, for a year and then handed it off to another official who still holds the post, I know the charge is specious.

Now, I’m not naive. This is Washington. It’s an election year. Officials out of power want back into power after November. But the middle of a worldwide health emergency is not the time to be making tendentious accusations.

One such move at the NSC was to create the counterproliferation and biodefense directorate, which was the result of consolidating three directorates into one, given the obvious overlap between arms control and nonproliferation, weapons of mass destruction terrorism, and global health and biodefense. It is this reorganization that critics have misconstrued or intentionally misrepresented. If anything, the combined directorate was stronger because related expertise could be commingled."

Doh! Another TDS yalking point dies when the facts come out...
