Operated by Jeff Back (Back Wine Bar), and I'm looking forward to what he does with this place!

Me, too. Need a trivia night as well, and, hopefully, much better service than they had at the Sports Garage (nice people, but, man, the service there sucked!).

They are looking to open mid January. The location is currently being painted and fixed up, then they have to wait for licenses. It's going to be a very nice when it opens.

Update:

Folsom Tap House Coming Soon!

Yes!  We are opening another restaurant in the same shopping center.  We are transforming the old Sports Garage into the Folsom Tap House

We are scheduled to open late January!

The Folsom Tap House is a casual family friendly restaurant specializing in craft beers throughout the US.  Featuring 25 beers on tap, another 25 bottles and a full bar, there is a refreshing libation to please everyone.  Bring your kids and enjoy the most unique kids menu in the area, chalkboard tables, multiple TV’s, and a selection of board games to keep the kids occupied as you sample beer flights.  Our food menu stands out from the rest as our selections are skillfully prepared from our talented chef.  Roast Beef Tuesdays and Beer Flight Wednesdays are likely to pack the house.

The kids menu is genius - this place'll succeed on that alone.

I talked to Jeff on Saturday, He is putting the finishing touches on the place he said he spent a lot of time and money just getting the place to sanitary standards, as the previous owner(s) could care less about it. The main holdup is the issuance of their liquor license as they had to go through the bankruptcy court to get legal ownership.. Should work out very well as Jeff is experienced  in the restaurant business. Best of luck!!

Hopefully he'll treat his customers better than he does at the overpriced wine bar!

We have been there many times and have never had anything less than great service, fantastic food, and amazing wine. The prices are very fair for the quality of food. I'm not sure what you are comparing the wine bar to, but IMO, it is so NOT overpriced.

Food portions server on a cracker for $12 that serve 1, maybe. Wine 4x what you can get the same bottle for at Bel Air. But hey, if you like it that's fine!

You can't compare the price of a bottle of wine at a supermarket to something being served to you in a restaurant. It's apples and oranges. You're paying for so much more than a bottle of wine. It's being properly stored, it's been brought to you, it's been opened. You're paying for the glasses, someone to wash the glasses, their insurance their mortgage, their bookkeeper to take care of their payroll, taxes.

And just FYI, restaurants cannot legally go to the store or Cosco and buy bottles of wine. They have to buy it through proper distribution channels which are much more expensive than buying it at the grocery store. It's a screwed up system but that's the way it is.

Newsflash....Your going to pay similar markups on alcohol at any eating establishment.  If they charged you supermarket prices they wouldn't be turning a profit...
