Stopped in today to check this place out and was like a kid in a candy store:) The place is as clean as a doctors office and is really well done. I got to talking with one of the employees and found out the owner is from Orangevale meats. They have all your typical butcher cuts plus a large selection of flavored sausages and bacons. They also have more exotic meats like buffalo, wild boar, pheasant, as well as frozen seafoods. All I can say is its about time Folsom got a real butcher/meat shop.
Thanks for your review! I look forward to checking out this store.

It is where Great Harvest Bread used to be between Trader Joe's and Sbarkles.

We tried their hot links and they were really good. Nice coarse grind, not too fatty or too lean, excellent flavor and just the right amount of heat.

This place will look very familiar to anyone who has bought from Orangevale meats. I have a feeling this place will do VERY well once word of mouth gets around. Grilling season is just getting started.

Just bought some spare ribs there over the weekend and made the best ever slab of ribs yesterday in the backyard! Here's the recipe I used: http://amazingribs.c..._ribs_ever.html

I stopped by on Saturday and was impressed with the variety of products and with the customer service. I picked up a brisket, which to my knowledge no one else in Folsom sells. The price was very good. It was a very large brisket, so I asked if he could cut it in thirds for me so I could freeze two portions (made the third that night). He cut them and re-wrapped them in air-tight plastic wrap. I also picked up some Italian sausage, which I'm eager to try. I'll definitely be back.

Winco sell whole brisket (cryovac pack) which includes the point and the flat cuts (single piece, around 11-14# total weight depending on actual size). Whole and uncut, price was around $3.19 per pound. Costco sells the flat cut only which personally is a waste of time as the point is the richest tasting part of a whole brisket.

Thanks for the info. I tend to not get my meat at WinCo, so I've never looked. I've never seen it at Costco either, although I would agree that I'd rather not have only the flat cut.

The Italian sausage is very good: not greasy and not as salty as most. Just good flavor.

I adore Orangevale Meats. So excited to hear they're in Folsom too. You know what is fun? Just walk in, point to something, ask them how to cook it for dinner. They've never ... wait for it..... steered me wrong!
