Chops restaurant at the Palladio has closed it's doors.

I loved the location and some of the food, but the services was never great and they had high turnover.

Happy Hour there was always nice and the prices were good.  I hope something good goes into that space. It's a great location right next to the theater.

I remember having lunch there a couple years ago and there were FLIES in the restaurant.

We never went back.

I'm sorry to hear this. The food was pretty good, not great, but it was a nice restaurant for a business lunch.

My only question is how did they make it this long?

My wife and I very rarely get to go out with just the two of us.  On one of these occasions shortly after they opened we tried out Chops.

The steak I had was small, gristly, and way over cooked.  Not a quality product for the price at all.

As a result of the one bad experience, we never returned.

we had good food and good service and it was a fun atmosphere at a reasonable price, but parking was not good (for us, any way).

We went there on special occasions and always had very good meals and service.

Sorry they have closed.

The food and drinks were good and my family went there for special events.   The atmosphere and location was nice and very sad to see the restaurant close.   The site has potential for success and looking forward to see what occupies the location.

Never did make it to chops. Everytime we go out for a special meal we end up at Sutter Street Steakhouse. Never had a bad meal or service there, so it makes it tough to try a different place.

I never set foot in the place. Their Yelp and Google reviews were universally terrible, and never got better. Let's make room for something good in there.

I fully agree. I never had classic Midwestern, corn fed, dry aged beef that was so bad. I tried it twice.

It's really unclear to me if you truly enjoyed their awful offal, or are in agreement.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but now that I've read the Yelp reviews since we visited, our experience was par for the course.

I hate to see businesses go under, and I'm pretty forgiving of service if I like other things about a place.

I'd met the owners, who seemed like nice people, and who had invested a lot of money in the place. The location and decor is great.

For me, it seemed like training and turnover were issues.

Service-wise, it seemed they always seemed to get something wrong. I ordered a bowl of soup and they brought a cup. I asked for sriracha when placing my calamari order. It was delivered without it. I asked again, and it was delivered about 10 minutes later. After the calamari was gone. I ordered the 'green plate' and the artichoke was so hard as to be inedible. Ordered a vodka-soda, and the soda was flat.

Once at happy hour, we wanted to order a second drink before the deadline, and the bartender had disappeared. He came back and made drinks for servers, then stood at the end talking to one of them.

He finally came over to us (we were the only 2 at the bar) and asked if we wanted another drink. He looked at his watch and said, 'you just missed the end of happy hour, but I'll still give it to you.'

Why go? It was right outside the movie theater and had a nice patio.

Hopefully, new tenants will come in with a focus on service and quality, and make it a successful business.

In agreement with you.

I love steak, did not like theirs at all.
