if they do pull the plug, it would be interesting to monitor the suicide hot line for an uptick in activity

We're more of a homicidal bunch than suicidal. Monitoring the people deemed at-fault for letting this happen might result in more activity.

I has been awhile since I went to a kings game but the cost of tickets, stadium food\drink ($$$ & "nutrition"), parking and the whole mess... watching a game on TV or highlights on the news is fine

As to the economic impact - reports have been that attendance is down (maybe result of increased cost and less discretionary spending?). However instead of looking at it as a blow to the economy, it is a great opportunity to make something happen to increase events, get money flowing and yes build a nice stadium for big name concerts, sports, conferences.
