If the Badgers played N.D. I'd be routing for the Badgers and I agree the Badgers are probably a better team than N.D. IMHO, N.D is always over rated!
I'll be routing for U.S.C. against N.D. this weekend....I'd really be disappointed to see N.D. playing in the BCS championship game against Ohio State....they haven't beaten anybody, YET.
USC might be peaking at the rigt time and they easily could be undefeated except for a tipped pass on a 2 point conversion. They have played a very strong schedule, besides I'd like to see the best of the Pac 10 play the best of the Big 10.
Well the Bowl season will be upon us soon and we will see what conference wins the most matchups.
IMHO, the college football debate is just something to fill in between elections!

IF ND pulls off a miracle & beats USC (I agree ND's overrated), I don't think that gets them into the BCS game. You've got U of M and ND with identical records, and we all know what happened early on this season when those 2 met. IMO, Big Blue would definitely be getting its rematch before ND goes to the BCS championship game this year.
Not that I really know anything about college football.

I heard Rome on the radio yesterday, posing the argument that it would be unfair to Ohio State to have to face the Wolverines for the championship, since they've already beaten them.

My husband (Wolverine alum) is mad at me for this, but I agree. We already know who the winner of that game. It would be dumb to have a rematch. Also, then what if the Wolverine's win? It's a split. Who's the camp? do they play best our of three?

It really depends on how the last 2 weeks play out.
IMHO, If USC wins out they have EARNED the right to play, if they loose and if Arkansas wins out they would have earned the right to play, if Arkansas looses and Florida wins out, then Florida earns the right. If all 3 teams loose and ND wins out, then they should get the chance to play. Yes, I know they got beat by Michigan early in the season, but since Michigan just got beat by OSU, I'd give the nod to ND. Late season losses are usually more reflective of how that team is playing now.
It is a remote possibility that all the 4 teams above could loose, USC beats ND, then looses to UCLA, Arkansas looses to LSU and then beats Florida. If this happens then look at the winner of the Big East or even consider Boise State...if they beat Nevada. ( I know they haven't played anyone....and they would be a huge underdog, but they would be undefeated and everybody cheers for an underdog...so why not)
Late in the season with football, my thinking is loose and you are out of the championship. Michigan could very well be one of the 2 top teams but they lost...so they are out.

Right now USC is the second best team in the nation. If Notre Dame beats the second best team then they deserve a shot at the best team. Further debate on the subject is unnecessary.

Boise State beat up on a respectable Nevada team ( who beat to Northwestern) at Nevada. I'd put Boise State in my top 6, I hope they get a highley rated opponnet so we can see how good they really are.
I was hearing the announcers talk about the possible Rose Bowl match up being between Michigan & N.D. It won't be much of a game watching Michigan rout ND again. Personally, I'd like to see Cal play Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Granted 2 of the announcers are former ND coaches and Lee Corso is from Indiana, but IMHO, ND isn't a top 10 team! I thought I heard an announcer say that ND is 0-5 against top ten teams lately.
I also thought I heard an announcer say that according to the computers the PAC 10 is the strongest conference.

There were some fun games to watch yesterday. I saw a bit of the Bayou Classic featuring Grambling against Southern U, Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, and Florida vs. Florida State.
When I watch college football, I am always amazed at the speed. These young guys can fly, yet, when you ask pro ballers, particularly rookies, what's the biggest difference in the college game vs. the pros, they almost always say, the pro game is so much faster. It doesn't seem that way to me, but then, I'm not on the field, and have always been pretty slow.

Boise State is going to get marched on if they play a decent team in a BCS game.
Michigan in the Rose Bowl... hopefully playing either Florida or LSU. I still think they are number 2... but can understand wanting to give another team a shot at OSU.
Wisconsin is up to 7 in the BCS... but they will still be going to Orlando and the Capital One bowl.

I'll be the first to say it: USC is going to beat OSU.
You are the first to say it....but I was thinking the same thing! Of course they still have to beat UCLA....don't under estimate the possible let down here by USC. After back to back emotional games for USC, this one could be more trouble than what it should be.
Koz, wasn't Wisconsin ranked 13th by the computers? Its too bad they played such a weak schedule...and really never beat any good team. It will be good for them to get a chance to play in a BCS bowl game to show how good they are.
I'll be surprised if Arkansas looses this weekend against Florida.
Rutgers is ranked well below Lousiville, with only one loss and having beat them. If Rutgers wins this weekend I wonder where one ranks them?
I'd still like to see Boise State play another BCS team, they may get trampled...but they earned the right to do so. They beat Hawaii, who beat Purdue...who was 4th in the Big 10.
The biggest potential farce I see, is ND getting into the Rose Bowl in a rematch against Michigan. Seeing ND get beat by Michigan again doesn't validate anything for either team!

Wisconsin will have to wait until next year to play a BCS game. They'll be at the Capitol One Bowl. And, they are ranked #7 in both the BCS and AP polls, and #6 in the USA Today poll.
I really hope that ND doesn't make it to the Rose Bowl for the same reason I didn't want a rematch of OSU/Michigan. We already know who wins in that game! Now, Florida would make for a good game.
I think an OSU/USC game would be good. Two quick teams.

Here are the current ESPN Bowl projections:
ESPN Bowl Projections
One analyst is picking Fla in the SEC title game, the other Arkansas. Will make a difference in the final BCS bowl games. Both have USC beating UCLA.
I'll supply the link once ESPN has their bowl fantasy game up.

The Badgers are ranked 12 by the computers. Yep... the same ones that had Rutgers number 2 a couple weekes ago. The computers have been tweaked just about after each and every BCS because of flaws.
The Badgers can't go to a BCS game because only 2 teams from one conference are allowed into BCS games.
Boise State will ge creamed against whomever they play.

Florida up 17-14 in the 3rd.
Its between Michigan and Florida now.
Also... its kind of funny that the mis-called Oregon vs Oklahoma may end up hurting Oklahoma (depending if they win the Big 12 championship game). Take that one loss away... and Oklahoma only has 1 loss to Texas. They would then have to be considered for the BCS championship game.
