They might eke in to the playoffs this year. They have a great running game but no QB. Any news on Crabtree?

They need a QB. The running game is exciting but they need a decent QB if they are to have a chance. Go Niners!

Their running game may appear strong , but during the regular season other teams will adjust to stop the running game by stacking the box. Without a QB who can stretch the field, other teams will dare the 9ers to throw the ball to beat them.

The good news is the 9ers play in a very weak divison and can possibly win their divison by going 9-7, unless the Cardinals match last years end of the year efforts.

The 9ers appear to be headed in the right direction, but hopefully they can find a way to get Tebow in this years draft, then they might return to championship status.

They will still win more games than the Kings.

To follow up on my earlier post, the only thing that has me troubled about the Niners' run game is the lack of ability to punch it in on the goal line. They had that trouble last year (remember the end of the game goal-line debacle against the Cards... forget I brought that up) and have not been too effective punching it in during the first two pre-season games.

We seemingly run at will between the 20-year lines, but red-zone rushing has not been our forte. We need to convert red-zone opps into TDs, not just into Nedney attempts.
In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

LIkely scenarios for the next 12 months:

Giants in a race with the Rockies for the wild-card (another stupid idea ruining major league baseball) spot. Hope the Giants can pull it out, but the Rockies seem to find ways to win.

A's mired in mediocrity.

49ers win 7 games. Passing game still poor, the wins come against even weaker teams. John York remains as the worst executive in the NFL.

Raiders win 2 games. Raider fans still the worst in the country.

Kings win 15 games. Team continues the downward spiral that began with the trade of Chris Webber. Maloofs keep up efforts (mainly out of public view) to move the team elsewhere.

Monarchs. No one cares because you can see better basketball played at any local gym for free.

Let's not get too excited about tonights win against Da'Boys. Their first team defense and offense was sub-par. They got no pressure on Romo during the first few series and did not do much on the offensive side of the ball. RB's look good, they have a nice one-two punch with Gore and Coffee. Gates could be playing his way to back up QB and Smith could wind up the third stringer.

At least the Giants won and Zito pitched very well. That team has had my blood pressure rising the past two weeks.

Anytime the 9'ers beat the 'Boys, it's the start of a successful season. Not a pretty win, but beating the Cowboys in Texas stadium, even in pre-season is HUGE!

I agree. Yes, there were some problems, but they won.

The second half was fun.

In other news, the weather this coming week is supposed to be very pleasant with temps barely reaching 90.

A pre-saeson win was HUGE? You gotta be kidding me...Now an opening day win against the Cardinals would be huge. This game meant nothing. If you watched the first half, you clearly saw that the Boys first team was kicking our butts on both sides of the ball.
We still have a lot of work to do....

Sorry but I don't care how or when the 49'ers beat the Cowboys, the fact that they did is HUGE!

How prescient was that!!!

20-16 W v. St. Louis
23-10 W v. Seattle

And then that incredibly close 24-27 Loss to Minnesota...

Despite the loss, I was still incredibly excited to see our offense give such a challenge against the Vikings defense, which is all I heard about during the last week.

Hat's off to the Old Man and his game-winning 80-yard drive... We had a lot of opportunities to nip it in the bud, but a close loss was ok.

I'm looking forward to our opportunity to go up 3-0 in the Division, against St. Louis... I trust Singletary to keep the team focused against the 0-3 Rams. Did you guys see him chewing out Vernon Davis (I think..?) for stumbling before that interception...???

After last weeks devasting loss for the 49ers, I'm sensing this could be a week for a letdown against the Rams.

The Rams have lost Bulger, their starting wide reciever and their safety and haven't won a game yet. The Rams back up QB is Boller who has experience, so its not like they have some unproven rookie

The 49ers are 10 point favorites but Gore is out.

Football is game that has to be played at 100% emotional committment to be competitive. This is one of those games that will test the 49ers, to see if they really are a good team. Good playoff teams stomp on other teams in games like these, so this really is a good barometer of where the 49ers are at.

The good news is Coach Singletary seems to be great motivator and may NOT allow the 49ers to let down. I'm impressed with Singletary.

I'm in definite agreement with you here... I was amazed to see the Niners do so well without Gore for most of the game last week. I love those Singletary eyes....

Do you remember...?

Indeed, a slow start, but they played the Rams like an 0-3 team should be played, with touchdowns made by the offense, defense and special teams... Now it's time to really pick it up before playing Atlanta next week!!!
Niners start late, shut out Rams 35-0

I'm just regretting this good season because when the 9ers are winning, Jesse actually makes a point to watch the games. His "jokes" about how all he's going to do on Sunday is "Sit on the couch, drink a beer and watch the game" aren't quite so funny anymore. Argh!!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
