While Johnny Cash did help put this town on the map, I don't think a memorial in his name is fitting. I would rather call it the Bridge to help El Dorado County get to Placer County and vice versa Bridge. After all, that is who it will benefit the most, while routing more traffic through my neighborhood from distant lands like Colfax & Placerville.

Hey...whatever clears up the Rainbow Bridge traffic a little, is alllll good!

All right i have to admit--I thought my cynism was bad--but some of ya all are out there!!
Seriously though, I think Beales Pt. Bridge is kinda catchy.

Or the Dyke Eight Bridge (Dyke Eight used to be where the dam access road comes out to East Natoma and meets with Briggs Ranch Road).

How about the Officer Scott Russell Memorial Bridge.. he was a Folsom resident and gave his life in the line of duty.

I am going back to johnny cash. a bridge with that name could bring tourists to folsom. they could get some big field glasses like they have at niagra falls that look over at the prison.

one of the usless antique stores could convert over to johnny cash memorabilia with bobble head dolls of johnny and june.

as people come from far and wide we might even have johnny cash days around the time for the rodeo...

But then they'll just have to rename it in a few years to The Folsom Point (formerly Dyke 8) Bridge.

Since the official list is out, here are my favorites, lets hear yours:

1. The Damn Bridge
2. The Unnecessary Bridge
3. Utility Road Replacement
4. Terrorist-proof span
5. Now we're safe Bridge

I'm don't know who entered "George W. Bush Legacy Bridge" or "Bush/Cheney Bridge" or whether they were meant in jest, but let's not doom the bridge to failure before it even opens...

How about the Fallen Sacramento Peace Officers Memorial Bridge?
We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.
