I knew my post was going to go over your head!

Maybe you should try being the open minded one by possibly waiting to meet the good citizens of GB before prejudging them based on your preconceived biases towards conservatives. You might be pleasantly enlightnened to the point of possibly reconsidering some of your views.

Its your preconceived, stereotyped thinking that allows you to even consider that everyone in GB thinks the same way. The people I know who have a variety of viewpoints, would never think any community has only ONE viewpoint.

Its too bad you don't have the capabilities to recognize and accept it was your title that was hostile towards conservatives and that your attitude prompted some of the responses. I've seen this with others who intially cast aspersions towards others then claim others aren't nice with their responses.

BTW, in the last test scores I saw, the Folsom Schools scored higher than the Davis Schools.

How high is that throne you're sitting on up there?

The elementary school that scored the highest in the region is in Sacramento proper. (Crocker-Riverside)

Why be so demeaning to her?

CW, Why is it OK for people to make hostile condenscending comments towards conservatives then get upset when people respond?

You should know me well enough by now, that I have an inherrent disdain for those who claim to be open minded, yet be judging of others following some stereotyped thinking.

Political correctness goes both ways!

Did she say anything about conservatives being too dumb and that her thoughts would go "over her head?" Did she claim that their political leanings had been shown to have failed? Did she claim that she "blamed" others for failures? Did she accuse you of having "preconceived, stereotyped thinking?" Did she tell you that "you don't have the capabilities to recognize and accept" anything?

THAT'S what I'm talking about.

I understand that she would want a variety of viewpoints represented in the place she wants to call home. That's all I think she's asking for. She's not asking for the right or wrong, the good or bad, or anything along those lines. But if she had a sour taste in her mouth about conservatives before, I think she's just been fed a mouthful here.

Sounds like Sacramento would be a great place to live (for you).
Of course , Santa Cruz might even be better.

Ahhhhhhh, Santa Cruz. I lived there for 6 years when I was more politically conservative than I am now and still loved it. :-)

Idea on the GB question...contact Karl Grubaugh. He's a very fairminded person, teaches at Granite Bay High...and has also had experience teaching in the Santa Cruz area (yep..it all ties together) as well as at Oakridge. I think Karl would give you the info you needed as objectively as he could. Yep. Karl Grubaugh...one heck of a guy. :-)

Have you considered sending your children to private school? Since you're already in Sacramento, I'd recommend Sacramento Country Day School. The tuition is steep, but it would be a lot cheaper than moving to Granite Bay. The academics are superb, teachers take a personal interest in their students, and you can't beat the small class sizes. PM me if you'd like more info. smile.gif

How'd I miss this one?

Bellaj

I hold liberal views on many issues, but moved here because of the schools, parks, water, housing, amenities, and amenities to come.

I knew that it was a largely conservative town. I decided to get involved in the community, which ensures that it's not all conservatives.

I think more and more liberals are moving here, and more and more conservatives are realizing that some conservative policies do more harm than good, and are 'liberaling up'. Of course, they won't admit it.

Folsom is becoming more diverse in many ways. I can't speak for Granite Bay.

CW, Her title to the post was offensive and condescending. It was a clearly a reflection of her feelings towards conservatives. I suspect since you too aren't a big fan of conservatives you don't see the borderline hatefulness in the title and implied those things.

If she had asked about the diversity of GB, issues or political leanings I would not have had any issue, but she came out guns blasting away towards conservatives. So I would say she was very demeaning towards conservatives in her title.

Clearly conservatives would agree there are double standards, in that those on the right are held to a different standard of accountability to those on the left regarding political correctness.

I will speak up when I see the double standard being used....and I will do it for both sides!

welcome to Folsom, you're now seeing the types of conservatives that are in this town with the responses you're getting. if you don't like that blow hard Limbaugh, you may not like some of the people here (they idolize him).

I must have misunderstood your post asking me how high was that throne I was sitting on. Where you intending for that to be a compliment?

Its rather humerous listening to some talk about mean spirited republicans and their hateful talk, then turn around and use the same talk towards republicans/conservatives and feel they are justified.

Calling others names, ,labeling people you don't know, posting your demeaning comments and not having the willingness to accept that others may be offended by the original posters title, is proof enough to many that its NOT just Rush that needs medication.

Thanks to some of you for once again for illustrating that the REPs/Conservatives don't have a monoploy on hypocrisy.
