The Orangevale Recreation and Park District 2011 Master Plan presentation will be according to the District, June 30, 2011 @ 6:30 p.m. at the Orangevale Community Center 6826 Hazel Avenue. Look for the only full color electronic sign in Orangevale,on Hazel Avenue northbound, between Central and Elm Avenues.
Orangevale residents, please ask the District Administrator Greg Foell why they district, the public agency is catering to a private for profit commercial retail sales buisness known as Final 9 Sports, located in Orangevale Community Park @ Hazel Avenue and owned by non-residents? Why did the park District build a $40,000.00 dollar (including donated labor) shade structure next to Final 9 Sports, at the request of the non-resident business owners of Final 9 Sports? When the recreation and park district can't or won't provide for the recreational needs of the residents of Orangevale, like a BMX track and a Skate Board park for our youths! But the District and the Board can provide a commercial retail business in Orangevale Community Park, that the majority of Orangevale residents publicly testifing, were against! The owners of Final 9 Sports, the District, the District's lawyer and the Board of Directors wanted this business, but residents did not! If anyone says otherwise they would "not" be telling the truth! Why, because i have public documents and audio recordings that tell the truth about what they did and why!
According to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors the reasons for the Orangevale Recreation and Park District's formation/reorganization was, the tax base was sufficient to support the District and Orangevale's unique character. The District is authorized by statute (5780) to provide residents of Orangevale with recreation, recreational facities and parks, not to provide for a commercail retail sales business in any of those parks to provide a solution for a preceived problem. Some of the primary objectives of the District are to prevent urban sprawl by acquiring open spaces, to maintain open space views and to maintain Orangevale's high-quality rural lifestyle, for the enjoyement of all visitors and all residents of Orangevale. The 1976 Orangevale Community Plan Technical Report, the District's Original 1983 Master Plan, the District's 1992 update and the 2007 Greenback Lane Economic Development Strategy report, makes no mention of residents need for a commercial retail sales buisness in any the District's Community Parks. After dismissing residents's opposition to the business and listening instead to the District's laywer, the members of the Board succeeded in approving a lease agreement with the owners of Final 9 Sports.
Beginning October 2013, Orangevale Recreation and Park District shall not allow a private retail sales business to operate from a permanent or modular building on district owned community park property.
Be it further resolved, that the Board of Directors for Orangevale Recreation and Park District, and publicly elected officials, will take action by motion, a second motion, and by majority vote to accomplish this request.
This resident request shall be included in the Board adopted 2011 Master Plan of the Orangevale Recreation nand Park District.

Sincerely

From a 42 year Orangevale resident!

Here's my result's from addressing the Board tonight, June 30, 2011. They would not make a motion!
