Ok all you tech specialists, I have a problem. So I researched how to get rid of my "Your copy of windows might be invalid" notice (see other thread). Almost all of the fixes were either temporary, or had to do with illegal software. Not interested. So I bit the bullet and bought full version of Win8.1. here is the problem.
I was running a 32 bit version of win 7, and I want to install the 64 bit version of win 8. Remember, I upgraded my hardware, so it is all 64 bit compliant. The install disk will not let me install a 64 bit os while running a 32 bit os. So you're thinking, no problem, just boot to the disk right?
Unfortunately, my usb keyboard is not initialized during the boot sequence, so I cannot "press a key to boot from disk" as my keyboard is inop until windows loads. Of course, that also means that I cannot access the bios menu to see what is wrong (or even switch boot order) as I can't press any keys to access the bios.
Any ideas?
