Well that was ...informative  :P  I don't know why they call it news.

Where did you hear this? I'm not seeing paralysis on the news sites I'm reading online.

Motive??

This is very distressing. I hate the idea of Folsom becoming as dangerous as Midtown or Old Town. Granted, I would not likely be there after midnight, but we can all imagine occasions where our kids (when slightly older) might have a night out with friends... I would have believed that Folsom was a safe place for them.

On one of the news sites, a guy who claims to be a relative said that the victim was paralyzed.

I don't think this means Folsom is unsafe. According to someone claiming to be a neighbor, the shooter is not a nice guy. He's from El Dorado Hills, but maybe anywhere he goes becomes unsafe.

I do, however, have daughters in their 20's, and worry any time they go out. I feel more comfortable if they are out on Sutter than in Sac or SF, and even more so if they have male company to protect them.

Fortunately, they both are in committed relationships, so I worry a little less.

I don't like to stay at ANY place that serves booze too late. I like to be home when the shooting starts.

Do the I and the III shaved on the eyebrows of the guy arrested mean gang affiliation?

Doesn't seem like the whole going to bars in Folsom because it's safer than Sacramento theory really pans out.  It wasn't safe for those two women leaving 36 Handles in El Dorado Hills recently.  The suspect arrested was from El Dorado Hills.  Steve's right.  No matter where you are nothing good happens after midnight.

lol

you already assuming it was criminaal intent. wehavent heard of a man hunt so im wondering if this was just an accidental discharge

????? How on earth would you even justify an "accidental" discharge, which this was not! Waving guns around in public is NOT ok.

I'm shocked you'd make such a crazy statement as if you're defending the shooter!?!

The ahole shot someone he got in an argument with. You know the type, big bad jackass with a gun ain't afraid of nobody. I hope that rat bastard is taken out back and hung from a tree until dead. I'm sick and tired of these gang banger wanna be jackasses shooting people. Need to start setting examples that it will not be tolerated, hang that bastard.

I appologize for my assumption these two were from sac... Proved me wrong.

Sad and scary that people feel the need to carry a gun to a night out

I know several Folsomites, including some myfolsom members, upstanding citizens, who carry a weapon when out.

There are some bad people out there and there are probably a few trigger-happy good people, too.

I followed Ducky's lead and googled shaved eyebrows and gangs and, yeah, its a thing I didn't know about.  I wonder what kind of music was playing at the pub that night that attracted that kind of a crowd.  Or is it just the grouping of drinking establishments that makes it enticing?

I too wonder what the music of choice was that night,

But police say gangs have co-opted the trend for their own use. In this case, Gresham police say members of Southside 13, a prominent Latino gang in east Multnomah County, are marking themselves by shaving one line into an eyebrow and three lines in the other to symbolize 13.

Were both the shooter and the victim thought to be gang-related?

Or was the victim an innocent bystander?
