Why don't we treat gangs like domestic terrorists and round them up for incarceration in Gitmo? Is it because they are mostly minority? Would that offend anybody? I say if you choose to reject the laws of civilized society, than you deserve the full repercussions of that refusal. 20 years forced labor should do. Perhaps picking fruit in the fields....or the good ol standby of breaking rocks. But NOOOOOO... our liberal brethren wail at cruel and inhumane treatment to the point that we are paying for sex change operations for convicted murderers. Nice utopia you got there...

The Spazmatics. They're tougher than they look.

I'm all for gangbangers facing justice, but no, I don't think the reason they aren't being rounded up and sent to Gitmo has anything to do with them being minorities. I think it's safe to assume that the majority of people incarcerated at Gitmo are minorities.
As for the sex change thing. That is crazy. Maybe I'll start another thread on that one.

the incident reminds me of a satirical joke I saw on the Onion today, "area man always carries gun in case he needs to escalate things quickly."

lol, the average human who NEEDS to be on covered ca or the average person who NEEDS employer sponsored health insurance.... will tell you that if they had to care for their families medical expenses meant absolutely no felonies....
would shudder at the thought that what is at this time considered an elective surgery is being provided to an inmate who is a murderer and faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
For whom is this prisoner going to get all sexed up for?
The entire animalism of conjugal visits and child welfare for prisoner's children has brought about the sex change fight.
Prisoners should not be allowed sexual relations. Their rights to sexual behavior should be terminated at the door. And if it is in fact terminated at the door... then they can wait until they get out of prison before worrying about their sex changes.

"Do the I and the III shaved on the eyebrows of the guy arrested mean gang affiliation?"
Yes, It means he's claiming to be a sureno, Generally Hispanic gang members will have some version of 13 (Sureno) or 14 (Norteno) displayed to show their affiliation,. Aside from tattoos or shaved eyebrows it can also include creases ironed in clothing, Rubber bands in pony tails and goatees, Hair style, Etc.
It's a crazy world. Used to just be red or blue bandanas.
I hope the victim recovers.

They are apparently very creative with colors, numbers, and fashion when it comes to gang identification. It all seems so infantile to mainstream society. Ooh, I'm a "13", so "14" must be hated. Ooh, I'm blue, so "red" must be hated. And for what? It's all just to try to find some sense of belonging, even if it means becoming a criminal. If only they focused on school instead of gangs... but they will never accept that.

A lot of the hardcore gang bangers ditched the bandanas a while ago to blend in better and avoid law enforcement.when their out and about. Hope the victim gets better too.
Yes, some claim team jerseys or hats. One kid I know got accosted by some gang bangers because 'they claim 49er gear'. I said, 'What about me? I wear 49er gear sometimes.' The kid said, 'yeah, but you're old. They know you're not in a gang.
Some kids even started carrying red or blue rosaries so they could claim religious freedom.
Idiots.

I claim the right to wear any color I want, anywhere I want.
I claim the right not to be accosted by people for whom that is a problem.
I claim the right to live in a country that doesn't tolerate criminal gangs.

Usually the Folsom PD is hanging out in front of the bars on the weekends. Probably didn't take them long.
According to a comment on one of the news articles by "powerhousenazzy" she thanked the Folsom PD and their in-house security for escorting the perps out and from preventing reentry. Again, just a comment so take it with a grain of salt.

New details are coming out.
According to witnesses, the shooter was part of a group of men who had gone to Powerhouse Pub to see the Spazmatics play. One or more of them got into a fight, and they were told to leave.
At some point, they came in contact with Folsom PD, who gathered identification, and suggested that they go home.
A short time later, they returned to Powerhouse and when security staff prevented them from entering one of them pulled out a gun and was tackled by a former Powerhouse employee who had been visiting. The gun was dislodged, and one of the members of the group picked it up and fired into the crowd, striking an innocent bystander. The group then ran off.
Powerhouse Pub has surveillance cameras both inside and out of their facility, and the scene was caught on tape.
Folsom PD already had their identification and contact information from their earlier encounter.
When the suspect, Frank Sierras of El Dorado Hills was arrested, he had altered his appearance and had shaved his head, and witnesses say the cuts shaved into his eyebrows were not noticed during the incident.
As the investigation continues, Murray Weaver, owner of Powerhouse Pub, said he'd like everyone to know that safety is his number one concern, and that in 15 years of business and over 500,000 visitors, nothing like this has ever happened before.
It was a apparently a case of some local guys looking for trouble.
