I ran the trail around Lake Natoma today. It took me about 2 hours 10 minutes (I'm old).

Anyway, my friend who I ran with told me he'd heard it was 11 miles, while another friend told me it was either 13.2 or 13.8 (couldn't remember which).

I posted the question on Facebook and BishmasterB said it was 427 miles!

I don't know what you're talking about. I'd be happy with that time.

They use that loop for Four Bridges Half Marathon. We started at city hall and then they had us do loops at the parking lot before heading back over the truss bridge and ending by the rodeo grounds. It was 13.1 miles.

it's a little over 11 miles. If you go from point to point and don't get too far off the trail. The only spot I get off the trail is after he Truss Bridge, and make my way to Karen's via surface streets.

According to my Nike+ sport-band it is 11.25 miles starting and finishing from underneath the bridge by Karens Bakery. I love that loop - it is a true Folsom Gem that I love!

From my door to Natoma Station & Folsom, crossing at Hazel and at Folsom, back to my door it's about 12 miles, which means 11 is about right. I haven't been out in a while, is the new Hazel bridge layout substantially different? That could knock off half a mile, maybe.

Yes, depending on where you enter. I park below Powerhouse Pub. There's a parking lot and a garage. From there, I walk across the truss bridge and turn left.

The bike trail around Lake Natoma is an excellent local ride. And don't forget that it's also easy to access by bicycle, rather than car. Folsom has an assortment of bike trails and bike lanes to get you there easily. Folsom Bike Map

It's essentially the same, although maybe a little longer. The loop at the north end of the bridge is more "loopy", not as steep and a bit longer. I think the U-turn point at the south end of the bridge is a little further south, too, so that's probably a little longer, but probably only a couple hundred feet.

Has the entire trail under Hazel then down the west side of the road opened up yet? It wasn't as of last Thursday.

Don't know. Haven't been there since last Thursday.
