Yep, just crush the ruble, crush the Iranians with their Corona mess and their need for oil to be above $50 a barrel.  And then as a sideline kill off US frackers, all of them......   And then get Trump out of office so you can get a softball democrat in there (Bernie or Biden, does not matter)....   Yep, if the Russians can last this one out economically then they just might win....   Lesson here, don't keep the Saudi's waiting 4 hours to meet you at the Kremlin, Putin, they will have your balls and make you pay deeply....!  And I think they did their first painful cut today, more tomorrow, more next month.  Remember, their cost out of the ground for 55 gallons of crude ( a barrel) is $8.   Russia maybe $20, the US Shale Frackers, $34 at least...  This will be a few interesting months.  And I bought some RDS-B and the XLE today........   Wait 1 to 3  years and I triple my money.   Looking at BP tomorrow if it goes below $24.25.  And maybe some PSX....?   Or CVX....?   Or XOM....   Buy and hold for a year or two and double your money at least....!   And as a Geologist I do follow this stuff and try to make money on the drillers, the pipelines, the intermediates, the refiners...   KMI and VLO, take a look, 52 week lows, buy and hold for a year and you make money, not hard to figure these ones out.   Knowledge is power and green money in your wallet, if you can do it....     My stock tips are free today.   Today only........    Chris

Oh liberal Socialist BS on your part for the hundreth time now....! Recognize opportunity, recognize value, recognize risk, accept risk, do the math, make money, and apologize to no one...! Especially socialist democrats like yourself who will criticise you for taking risk and being smart. Smarter and faster than the other guy. Here, in the world of capitalism, not everybody gets a trophy and a pizza party at the end of the season... Chris

I'm always in favor of someone bettering themselves and analyzing ongoing situations to make life more rewarding for themselves,

so have at it, Chris.

I only lament those people and institutions who make that profit at the direct expense of other hard-working souls, or who damage the ecosystems of the planet for short-term profit.

So, some poor soul, panicked by the sinking market, sells his share as half cost, and a year later the stock is up to its original value.

Do you take pleasure in his loss? Or maybe you feel the Darwin principle just taught him a bitter lesson.

I don't know. Tough question. Certainly if you don't take advantage of the fool, someone else will.
I just don't want to play that game.

They say the stock market is run by the balance between fear and greed.

Seems cruel and uncaring to me.

Compassion for others . . . I don't think it's socialist BS, but more like Christian values.

That poor soul is an idiot.  There is no profit or loss until you sell. Once you sell, you are locking in those losses.  As for the fool I am sorry for his loss, but HE EARNED THAT by his actions.  I am all about the individual taking responsibility for their own existence (spiritually, emotionally, financially, physically and socially). Sometimes, unforseen bad things happen to people throough no fault of their own. For THEM, I have tons of compassion.

Russia is trying to crush the US fracking industry. One of the things that led to the US being a net exporter of fuel is the use of fracking.  By eliminating our reliance on foreign oil we have better security, AND we hurt Russia whose primary export is oil. Now, with the Saudis pushing down the price of oil, Russia has joined in to push it even lower. OPEC dropped the price to 35 /barrel and Russia responded by dropping to 31/barrel.  While this is good for us short term, the result is that our fracking industry is not viable at that price point. Russia is definitely taking losses in the short term to try and rid itself from competition.  That is what the "Trump bailout of big oil" is about.  Once again, Trump (through luck or competence) is putting American interests first.

Of course you anti-frackers are probably happy with that, but I remember only being able to buy gas on odd day and waiting an hour to do so because OPEC decided to twist the screws on us. I LOVE that we are in control of our own supply of oil! Should have happened a decade ago...

Give your hate a break Vinny.

We all need know you are evil. Just give it a little time for people to mourn the dead and suffering
