Sounds spot on, particularly since Detroit is playing without Suh. That idiot can't let his athletic ability and skills be enough. He has to get dirty.

You need to check the news Steve. Suh's suspension was justly over-turned. Don't buy into the slo motion Fox media hype ok.

OK i'll recap my predictions, unlike nhardy who was too chicken sh*t to even post any but talked smack anyways.

1. Seattle is going to at least go to the Superbowl again, they haven't shown any signs of slowing down.

- looks pretty spot on here so far, we'll see.

2. The 49ers looks to be falling, maybe they end up 8-8. All the thugs and criminals on the team will have an impact, Kaepernick looks a bit off, and they nearly traded the coach in the off season. I guess somebody does have it better than us! LOL.

- Um, looks like I nailed this one.

3. The Broncos will again be exposed as the fraud they are (as I also predicted in that Superbowl wipe out). Hopefully it will be earlier so a more deserving team can rep the AFC.

- Still time for this one to come true, let's wait.

4. Teams that will be good: NE, NO, Philly, and Pitt.

- 2 of 3 here. NO really faltered.

5. Over-rated for sure: GB, Indy, Cinn

- All 3 of these teams are playoff bound but Cinn and Indy could be out in first round. GB won't win outside of Lambeau.

6. Surprise teams: Tampa, Az (not so much as they were decent last year), and San Diego.

- 2 of 3 here again. Az and San Diego were good. Az will be out after going to 3rd string QB. SD is just SD as usual. TB sucked wind, bad call there.

7. Stuck in the middle at 7-9, 8-8 are a ton of teams with good talent but lacking coaching, discipline, etc. Det, Chi, KC, Atl

- Detroit is the real deal here. Chicago was an embarrassment, KC gave it a good run and Atl just folded with the chance to beat Carolina at home.

8. Worst team: Will either be the Rayyyyydas or Dallas. This could be the most fun race to watch.

- Spot on with the Raiders but Dallas is looking really good. And Romo hasn't even choked yet. Hopefully that comes this Sunday.

O to the MG!

I just looked it up and yes, they overturned the suspension, while fining him $70,000.

My feeling is that he knew what he was doing, and if the NFL thought it was an accident, they wouldn't have fined him.

I didn't fall for any slo-mo hype. I saw what he did. It's not a coincidence.

Now that he'll be playing, however, Detroit's chances just got better.

You're missing the point Steve. It was an incident involving the Golden Boy of the NFL Arrogant Rodgers. Anyone else and it was an accident. The NFL bought into the Arrogant Rodgers hype initially but realized they had no leg to stand on (pun intended!). So they had to "do something" so they fined him.

Whatever. The NFL is a super violent game and if you cannot take it don't watch. I guarantee you Suh takes WAY more punishment in the trenches that never makes the slo mo highlight reel but we don't get to evaluate that right?

Hey, I'm not for wussifying the NFL, but the game has to have rules. Time and again, Suh has gone beyond fighting for position and tackling. He's kicked a guy in the nuts, stomped people (at least twice), and almost ripped a quarterback's head off.

He's not the only dirty player in the league, and I like a physical game, but hit 'em right when it's right.

Don't deny he has a history but he has been clean all year. A couple of his infractions were total BS (the "chop block" on the Minn player comes to mind). Most people don't know that Suh is a very intelligent guy and has given millions to his college and fulfilled several "Make a Wish" type asks. He's a beast on the field and a teddy bear off it.

He uses the NFL and his talent to get him where he needs to be (rich and secure) as the average NFL lineman lifespan is less than 7 years. Everyone hates the guy unless he is on their team. We'll see if this come true after the season as Detroit may not be able to re-sign him.

My question is: if Suh was innocent and didn't warrant a suspension, why the fine?

See my post above. Believe it or not there are actual legal reasons (NFL Union!!) that need to be fulfilled for these punishments and they did not have enough to justify the suspension so to save face and appease the GB homers they levy a fine instead. There was no flag on this play if you recall.

As I said before, if it were 2 different players we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Suh is a punk. His history of PURPOSELY going for the head of quarterbacks and smashing people's head into the ground and stomping on them/kicking them is the reason he gets no slack. It has NOTHING to do with Rodgers being the latest victim of his. He has "only" been disciplined by the league 6 other times. What a saint. Rodgers, by contrast, has been a class act both on and off the field.

Actually, it was because under the rules, if a player has not had disciplinary action for 32 games, his history is "reset." THAT is the only reason he only got a fine rather than suspension. If Suh wasn't such a punk, you're right, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Ok, on to round two. I was three of four on the last round as I really didn't expect the Ravens to pound Ben like that. Suits me fine as I don't like the Steelers.

Before I pick, gotta say the Lions got hosed.

On to the picks.

Let's start with the Ravens v Patriots

This is the most interesting match up to me. If any team can unseat NE in the AFC, Baltimore stands a good chance. This will be a game determined by defenses. If the Ravens can get to Brady and keep the scoring modest, they will ease the pressure on Flacco. Suggs, Ngata, and Dumervil must earn their money. On the flip side, NE's defense has been much improved. Look for Flacco to struggle as his O line tries to cope and receivers get well covered. Raven's could pull out a surprise, but more likely NE does what it does best. Win.

Next up, Broncos v Colts

With players returning off injury, and an impressive running game, look for the Broncos to outpace the Colts. The only caveat being that the Broncos have been known to give up big plays on occasion.  Luck is no slouch, but his defense is not as good as Denver's. Barring turnover or special teams fiasco, look for a close game with Denver winning.

Up north, Seahawks v Panthers

This is the Seahawks game to lose. All they have to do is play modestly well, and the game is theirs. The Panthers, on the other hand, have to play a near perfect game to win. They looked horrible beating a third string quarterback last week. If they can't dominate the running game (and they won't), win goes to Seattle.

and finally, Packers v Cowboys

This is a coin flip with too many variables. If the weather promotes a running game, Dallas has the edge. If Dallas can run, run, run (and they probably will) they will burn clock and keep Rodgers off the field. However, the Cowboys offensive line did a poor job protecting Romo last week. GB will want to dominate the line to not only stop the run, but pressure Romo. They are going to have to step their game up to do so.  If they can force Romo to "go Romo" and try to do too much, that will work in their favor. A pretty good secondary will be pressed to cover the Cowboys, but should do ok. Look for 3rd receivers and tight ends for Dallas to pick up some slack. As long as Rodgers is healthy (big question), look for them to edge Dallas. Now where is that Romo voodoo doll...

I don't think I've rooted for the Cowboys since Landry and Stabauch days, but I will be a big supporter in their next game. Burn, Packers, burn!

Detroit supposedly got an apology from the NFL, but it's hard to argue that the call was right or fair, or that it was right or fair to pick up the flag.

One thing's for sure, the NFL makes more money with the Cowboys in it than with the Lions.

Actually no, it's not hard to argue if the call was right or fair because it wasn't. And then after the NFL admitted that they talked about another missed holding call on Suh that gave Romo enough time to be the hero and win that game. NFL is basically on the WWF level now.

At a minimum, they pick up the flag and call Bryant for unsportsmanlike conduct. 1st down Detroit.  The (non) calls were a HUGE factor in turning the game around.

Stage is set. Over-rated Denver is out. It's the NFL dream (ie, script) to have the new gun (Luck) going against the best (Brady). Manning is done, his old arm and body can't take a long season.

Dallas got their comeuppance with the Dez call (Detroit is laughing at that BTW) and now GB gets to go get rocked in Seattle.

Seattle and NE in the SB with Seattle repeating. You heard it here first folks!
