Had a late start on a recent Sunday. Decided to take my wife and daughter out to breakfast.

Ended up at Gold Miner. Hadn't been there in a year or more.

Best Huevos Rancheros I can remember having! Just excellent. Friendly service, too.

What do you like?

I like the huevos rancheros at Mel's as you get them with Mel's potatoes. Sadly, they don't have a good, hot salsa. I like the ones at gold miners, but prefer them with potatoes.

The Gordito Burrito in EG (since closed) used to make a fantastic huevos, with beans and potatoes with green chilis and onions.

Generally, I make my own so I can get them exactly the way I like them  :)

Salmon Scramble at Karen's Bakery.  Also, to go I'm a huge fan of her home made granola with dried apricots (sometimes cranberries) to ,ix with yogurt.

Fun topic.

My favorite was Lake Forest that was closed. :(

I can't really think of any place in Folsom that is better than what I can make at home...oh, except Karen's. I haven't been there for a long time, but it is a favorite. And of course, Hawks in Granite Bay. Now that is one heck of a fantastic monthly sunday brunch!

I don't go out to breakfast all that much.  I can make a good veggie scramble at home or just have oatmeal.  When I do go out, this is what I usually order.

I like the chili verde omelet at Gold Miner.  The portions are so big, though.

If I'm at Sutter Street Grill I usually have scrambled eggs with chicken apple sausage.

El Rincon has tasty breakfast burritos.  (I tried them after Chad's recommendation.  Good prices, too.)

I took my husband to Gold Miner over the weekend for his first visit; it's been a few years since I have been.

He ordered the buttermilk pancakes, me the buckwheat pancakes. Mine were really not good. I don't think they were undercooked, but the texture was akin to mush, which was disappointing. His pancakes were OK, but nothing to write home about.

My favorite breakfast place is Early Toast. Yummm

We go to the Gold Miner, Mimi's and IHOP. We have also gone to the Sutter Street Grill as well as Karens.

We have also gone to Early toast.

El Rincon has the best breakfast in Folsom. Yes, really. Their pancakes are better than anywhere else. SSG has the best sausage patty.

Anyone ever had breakfast at the Purple Place, and if so how is it?

IHOP has got to be right up there with Denny's.  Would rather eat a bowl of corn flakes...

Nations aint to bad for a quick breakfast on a budget.

Agree on SSG sausage patty.  I usually get the country scramble and that big ol pile of mess holds me over til dinner.

I hear it's good, but I haven't validated that myself.

i agree that Gold Miner isn't what it used to be like 15 years ago. Since they sold we have not been there very much. Their pancakes are not that great and I find if I want pancakes we go out to the Original Pancake House in Roseville. The couple times a year we go out for breakfast that's where we go.

I took my wife out to Karen's Bakery for breakfast this morning, for her Birthday.

They were very busy, as usual, around 8:30 AM. I think the service has really gone

downhill since the last time we were there. It took about 15 minutes to get our order

and they had not even cleared the table before our food got there. A lot of tables

had dirty plates and had not been cleared off before others were sitting down at

the tables.  I seems like they did not have any staff to clear tables and wipe them down.

Normally, the waiter would come by and ask how the food was and would you like

a warm up of your coffee.  NOT.

What is going on there?

I did let the person taking order know what I thought too.
