Any one know the story on that weird smurf-looking house on Coloma and Figueroa. The one with the head in the window? Just moved the the neighbourhood and it intrigues me!

Beats me. I know they've been restoring it for some time; it's a historical house in Folsom but I'm not sure if it currently has residents.

No, that one's beautiful but not the one I'm talking about. I hear they just poured a ton of money into restoring that (as you can see by the gorgeous carriage house) and they're not even done yet.

I'm talking about the one on the north-west corner of Coloma and Figueroa. Take a drive/walk by and peek behind the locked iron gate and shroud of trees/bushes and you'll know instantly the one I'm talking about smile.gif

The house has been owned for over 20 years by an artist couple - Deino & Jobekka Trotta. She is better known as the Folsom Library storyteller - don't know if she still does that. Anyway, here a link to the story of their house:

Wow, great link! Thanks for the information! What a neat home they have built for themselves.

Depending on how you feel about public funds for arts, you may be interested to know that the owners got some government arts grants to do some of their home improvements. I'm not sure I agree with that kind of use of tax money.

And over the years I know some of the neighbors have objected to some of the things they've done to it because it's not in line with the historical architecture of most homes down there.

Great information, I've always wondered about that house. Knowing it belonged to some artistic folks - duh. Great to know more

John, my sister and I have been trying for a LONG time to get some information on the background of this house. And the story on what happened there. Can you help us out at all?

I know it's called the Cohn house, and was built on Folsom's "Nob Hill". Other than that, I don't know much.

Former Mayor Glen Fait owns it. It's listed in the national register of historical homes. Fait did all the renovation/remodeling over the last 20 years or so. It's on the corner of Sutter and Scott. I don't know of anything that "happened" there, like if you're referring to it being haunted. There's information about it at the Folsom History Museum on Sutter Street between Wool and Decatur.

I'd say somebody needs to take that level they bought from OSH back and exchange it for a working one.
