I see this as a very one sided game with the Seahawks winning easily 27-10.

Good prediction.  Take away the three unusual scores (safety, kickoff return, pick-six) and Seattle would have had exactly 27 points, with Denver probably ending up with 7 (not 8), or maybe even 10, if instead of the pick-six they ended up with a field goal.

Bugs me that it easily could have been the 49ers winning today.

Reminded me of Folsom (offense) vs.De La Salle (defense) outcome as well.

I predict (hope) Sherman blows out his knee ...

Will you settle for an ankle injury?

Denver didn't even show up. I think I gave them far more credit than they deserve. From the very first play they were out of sync. Manning had nothing.

The Seattle defense was unreal as usual. All the blabber about Manning and the yards per game and the TD's were meaningless as we saw and he had tons of yards along with his 2 picks one of which went for a TD.

NFC is traditionally stronger and that was way apparent tonight.

All the 49er fans (ie Bronco fans for today or Sherman haters) were stuffed as predicted. To wish for injuries and hate shows the level they go to when they are beaten.

Seattle has a very young team and will be around for quite some time. Same with the 9ers too so it will be fun to watch.

That was terrible! I watched the whole thing anyway, but that was the worst.

I used to enjoy watching football but the NFL has morphed into something that has lost it's heart. This last game was so boring I found myself organizing my bookshelves while my friends and I talked with the game largely being ignored in the background.

I was on board with you until you started lumping "all the 49er fans" with people who wished for injuries and hate. That completely lost me. I NEVER wish injury on someone, even someone I do not like, and I am a 49ers fan. I do not hate anyone. Neither does my husband nor my friends who are 49ers fans. All the 49er fans you seem to know who are hateful, injury-wishing people; I think you may want to distance yourself from. I hope you will not consider me a hateful person because I like the 49ers. In general, with gladiatorial sport, some folks need to CTFD and maybe use less catastrophic language no matter what sport/team/region they support.

Wilson is a very gracious winner! Makes up for Richards. Now I like the Seahawks again. Great respect for Payton too.
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

My prediction is that Seattle will not return to the Super Bowl next year.  Sort of an easy prediction, because it seems like no one ever does.

I don't know that the NFC has been traditionally stronger, at least in the past decade.  The NFC has put up some pretty weak teams over the years, especially during the New England glory days.

If you hadn't seen the game and only saw the box score, it would look like Denver played even with Seattle except for the four turnovers.  But the stats don't tell the story:  Denver was utterly smothered.  It was annoying (to me) to see Manning attempt 4-yard passes and rarely air out the ball - and when he did, he threw floaters, of which two were picked off.  THIS was the record-setting QB?

Denver's kicker (Matt Prater) had an easy day:  no PATs and no FGs attempted.  He had only two kickoffs the whole game, and one was returned for a touchdown.  (Side note:  why doesn't every NFL team employ one guy who does nothing but kick the ball out of the end zone, to prevent a good kickoff return from ever happening?)

That was terrible! I watched the whole thing anyway, but that was the worst.

I watched it painlessly:  started watching the DVR at 6:00 PM with the sound off, skipped past the huddles and dead balls, caught up to real time with less than a minute remaining, and said "what a weird game, with only one team showing up".

That really bothered me too. Almost all of the commercials were lame (I was counting on them to keep me awake, you know there is a problem when you are more interested in the commercials than the program itself!) and I was really put off at the "abuse of sentimentality". You summed it all up with those three words.

I skipped over all of them.

At least the safety helped those who participated in the Superbowl pools where you buy a square and win based on the last digits of the score and wound up with weird combos like '2-0', '8-0' or '3-8'

I think next year I'm going to either participate or start one of those pools so at least I'll have something to root for during the game even if my teams are in it or it's a blowout.

The pools are also more fun if one of the two teams changes their number from 0 or 8 a bit more often.

That comment was in reference to our resident hater Judge Smalls, he made the one and only comment wishing for injuries on the Seahawk's player Richard Sherman. He got his wish too so he should be wallowing in his injury wishing happiness right about now.

Knowing that many will vehemently disagree with me on this, I'm a big Richard Sherman fan. This happened after the interview controversy. There's a lot to look up to with him. I think he was completely maligned.

American kids, some might say black kids in particular, need positive role models and leaders. Richard Sherman grew up in a rough area, was a great student-athlete, graduated second in his high school class with a 4.25 GPA, then went to Stanford. He is a student of the game, claiming to watch hours of video of opposing teams and players. He says he doesn't party because although he'd be able to make plays the next day, he wouldn't be his best, and he wants to be the best.

If he played his cards right, this is the image the world would have of him.

Instead, he presents himself as an immature trash talker, and when given the microphone in front of the whole country, instead of saying something positive, like 'I worked so hard to get here, studied hours of tape, and kept my nose clean so I'd be able to make that play', he goes into a rant and says, "“I’m the best corner in the game, when you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree that’s the result you’re going to get. Don’t you ever talk about me!”

He throughout his brief career he has become known for taunting other players and bragging about his greatness. This is what people see, and the kids who look up to him will emulate that.

Everyone hates Sherman unless he is on their team.

Agreed. I hated Deon Sanders before he was a 49er, loved him while he was one, then hated him again when he left!

Speaking of weird numbers, the Broncos' 2 point conversion instead of the extra point cost us the 3rd Q win in our pool. GRRRRR!!
