I don't know how Folsom Live went, but this is the second year it has brought the rain.  Mother Nature put on quite a show last night.

I hope those big metal stages were down by the time that lightening hit.  it was RIGHT over old town. man!!!!  my windows shook and my cats that normally can't be phased all ran for cover.

It was packed and the bands were very good. The Michael Jackson "Who's Bad" band was awesome. Overall the event was well organized and there were tons of volunteers at the booths so all the lines moved quickly. I think it was better to have it all off of Sutter Street. The businesses on Sutter Street were packed afterwards too.

I saw one guy cuffed being taken away but other than that it was a good time by all who attended.

Had a fabulous time at Folsom Live. It was a great mixture of music. The bands we heard were so talented and entertaining. There were very few "sloppy" drunks (at least that we saw) and the atmosphere was fun and lively. Lots of dancing, singing and great times. Beautiful warm night and the rain didn't start until we got home.

The shuttles are so much fun as well. We had a blast both ways. It just really adds to the excitement of the night and how great to be able to check in ahead of time and not have to wait in that huge line when you get there. So well planned out.

So worth the money spent. A big thank you to Myfolsom.com for the discounted tickets. It was more than worth the full price tickets, but it just feels great to get a deal. What an awesome city we live in. It makes you so proud to live here. We'll be back at Folsom Live again next year.

I was fortunate enough to be asked to manage the main stage venue. Duties were to make announcements and aid in security and communications.

I had California Surf Inc, which featured former members of the Beach Boys. They were great, professional, and very nice people. They love getting to play for people. The crowd was sparse at first, as the main stage was furthest away from the gate, and many people were stopping at other stages, getting food, drinks and tokens. Eventually they had good sized crowd, and from my vantage point, I could see that most of them were singing along.

Next up was Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real. Lukas is Willie Nelson's son. He does not allow that to be mentioned in any advertisements or announcements because he wants to make it on his own. He showed up with a bassist and a drummer. They absolutely crushed it! So very good, professional, and energetic. They really played their butts off. I'd go see them again in a heartbeat. played a blues-rock set They are playing 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass' next month in Golden Gate Park, and I'll be just getting back from vacation, but maybe...

Lastly was 'Who's Bad', the Michael Jackson tribute band that's been touring for over 10 years. They've got their show down so well, so polished. I saw women crying and screaming like it was the real Michael Jackson up there.

I didn't get to see much of the rest of the event except on a couple of breaks.

I've heard good feedback from people on the other bands, in particular, the Midnight Players, The Parrot Heads, and Joy and Madness.

I think the decision to keep it off of Sutter and to leave Riley open was a good one. I'm told that Sutter businesses did very well, and with Riley open, I expect there were fewer complaints.

The rain waited until after the show, which was great, and I got out of there and was home by then.
