how do kids these days make the leap from just running away from home, like they did in the good old days, to murdering their parents and heading to a mall? that's a big leap!

When all this came out, I asked my son if he knew either one of them. He didn't, but has no shortage of friends who were very familiar with the suspects, a couple of whom were interviewed by Channel 3 and the Sacramento Bee.
I can't tell you how grateful I am that he didn't know them.
