For some reason I have a bunch of lines from songs in my head today. So I was wondering, what are some of your favorite lines from songs?

The one I have in my head right now is :

"We don't need no education. So Teachers leave us kids alone"

Another one in my head earlier today:

"I was born on the fourth of July"

"I told you about the Walrus and me, man. You know that we're as close as can be, man. Well here's another clue for you all: the Walrus was Paul" -John Lennon

"Tell the gossipers and liars I will see them in the fire. Let the train blow the whistle when I go" - Johnny Cash

"Another fella told me he had a sister who looked just fine. Instead of being my deliverance she had a strange resemblance to a cat named Frankenstein" - Sam Cooke

"As Charlie passed away, his young wife heard him say, 'I've been unfaithful to you many times my dear.' She said, 'darling nevermind. In fact I knew it all the time. That's why I put that arsenic in your beer.'" - Benny Hill

And my sentimental favorite: "I want to be by myself in the evening breeze, listen to the murmer of the cottonwood trees. Send me off forever, but I ask you please: don't fence me in" - Gene Autrey
"Here's the last toast of the evening: Here's to those who still believe. All the losers will be winners, all the givers will receive. Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small. Here's to the losers: bless them all
Sinatra "Here's to the Losers"

What I should say is "Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me."

The wretched part thinks of "Been around the world and seen that only stupid people are breeding, the cretins cloning and feeding."

Each of us, a cell of awareness
Imperfect and incomplete
Genetic blends with uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet

"We bring him toys, and watercolor, he loves to hear my little baby's stories. She's the gift I share. She's his companion, she's a string on the kite, she guides him into the wind. My little girl wonders who will care for him. We take hold of his hand, and we begin: Home is where the heart is. No matter where the heart is. Inside your heart, where love is, that's where you've got to make yourself at home." - Home Is Where the Heart Is by Peter, Paul & Mary.

"All I know, all I know, love will save the day." - Gotta Be by Des'Ree

Just to start.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

The waves crash in, the tide rolls out
It's an angry sea, but there is no doubt
that the lighthouse will keep shining out
to warn a lonely sailor.
And when the sky begins to clear
the sun it wipes away my fear
and I cry a silent weary tear
for those who mean to love me.

I am ready for the storm.

It was champagne
candlelight and wine
The girl looked so good she gave eyesight to the blind
-- Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, Baby

Sweet illusions of the heart
Build palaces out of empty air
And when the palaces fall apart
We cry for what was never there
- -God Street Wine, Molly

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
none but ourselves can free our minds.

I could think of hundreds. A few faves:

Maybe we'll live and learn
Maybe we'll crash and burn
Maybe you'll stay, maybe you'll leave,
maybe you'll return
Maybe you'll never find
Maybe we won't survive
But maybe we'll grow
You never know baby you and I

We're just ordinary people

-John Legend - Ordinary People

I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......I love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

- What a Wonderful World - Thiel and Weiss

When my life is through,
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all,
Then I shall tell them
I remember you.

- Mercer/Schertziger - I remember you

Thibodaux, Fontaineaux, the place is buzzin'
Kinfolk come to see Yvonne by the dozen
Dress in style and go hog wild, me oh my oh
Son of a gun, we'll have big fun on the bayou

- Jambalay (on the bayou) - Hank Williams

How could this thread go on so far without these immortal words:

"Do you like pina coladas
and getting caught in the rain"

Now that song will be stuck in your head.
