Okay, we have had three different episodes of mailbox break ins in the past two weeks in the Preserve.  I understand that this is so common that the police department doesn't make a note of it and refers it to the postmaster, and they just offer to replace the lock for $50.

The question is this:  how many of you have had this happen to your mailboxes broken in to as well? Is this happening constantly in Folsom?

We had it happen about 8-10 years ago. Thieves like to hit the gang mailboxes.  Don't pay 50.00 though. Just go down and buy yourself a "mailbox lock" and install it yourself. I think they are about 10 dollars.  Worse case, you'll have to drill out the keyhole of the old one if they jammed something in there to break in.  once you have it open,, they are easy to replace..
