Hello future neighbors -

My wife and I are 28 years old and currently own our house in Elk Grove. I have always loved Folsom, and it was at the top of our list when we bought our own houses back in 2008 and 2010 (we were just dating). She bought in Elk Grove where her family lives, I bought in Gold River (now our rental property). We started looking in Folsom and EDH last year, but Briggs Ranch has always been at the top of our list.

Our priorities have been: 3 car garage, 2000+ sq ft, 1/4 acre+ lot, 4 bedrooms, large kitchen. We thought we found the house for us in EDH last month, and put our house on the market after making a contigent offer. Long story short, we didn't get the property, but its for the better. We are now in escrow on a beautiful single story, 4 br 2100 sq ft house on a .3 acre lot with a pool in Briggs Ranch. We are avid wakeboarders, and being 1/2 mile from the lake with our boat is going to be great - if Folsom ever has water! Best part is, we sold our Elk Grove house and bought in Folsom all on the same day!

We are very, very excited to be moving to Folsom; especially Briggs Ranch. My wife works in downtown, and I start a new job in Roseville at the beginning of Feburary (10 mile commute). We love everything Folsom has to offer - the running/biking trails, the lake, the restaurants, live music venues, nightlife, great schools, shopping, etc. While relatively expensive compared to Elk Grove, the quality of life is SO much better.

Welcome fouroheight68!

I think you'll love it here. I have family and friends in EG and I've sold homes there too. It can be a nice community, but there's nothing in the region quite like Folsom.

Please continue to drop by to chat and ask questions.

Welcome!!!

I loved reading your story. So many times 20/30 y/o's are steered to mid-town where "all" the young people are, so it's refreshing to hear stories like yours. :)

Thanks! I grew up in Morgan Hill, CA (rural bay area) and my wife grew up in Wilton. We both want SPACE, not hearing the neighbors sneeze, and live near people like minded as us. We spend almost every weekend in Folsom as it is. My wife is an avid runner and loves running Lake Natoma. We have a boat and are looking forward to spending summers on the lake. We want to eventually have kids, so schools are important. We especially like the nightlife in Old Folsom, the bars, restaurants, music.
