I stopped by Kinney O'Reilys Irish Pub today and it was closed. There was a sign that said something like closed for business, but it didnt appear to be permenently closed-at least I hope not. That would be bad, it is an awesome place-way too expensive-but nice.

That sucks! I did enjoy them now and then, and they had done a great job with the interior. The staff was always friendly to us, sorry for their job losses.

What happened?

On a related note, noticed yesterday that Streets of London is no longer in Folsom. There's another pub in that location, but I can't remember the name.

The pub is still there, it's called Churchill Arms now.

Is it essentially the same with a new name? Or is it all different now?

Dang that pub went down fast

I think their demise was due to the food

Yes, very much the same. Different in that they have upgraded the TVs and are planning to redo the awful bathrooms!

I am hoping someone takes it over and makes it succesful. Especially in making a good value- Bistro 33 seems to do it.

Here's why they closed:
- bad service
- bad food

I spoke with one of the owners at length who offered me a free meal to come back (after the first time I went was terrible). I didn't even go first couple weeks. Unfortunately, especially in the business park, they got quite the reputation for bad food. She seemed quite nice.and I wanted them to succeed so bad. I could tell from her voice and from her actions and responses how much she cared.

Unfortunately, they just could not make it. I do hope someone takes over that location especially with the new hotel going in next to it. It is the perfect spot. My understanding from talking with her is that an insane amount of money was thrown towards that endeavor.

The food I had was great, granted, not all of it was...and I didn't think the service was that bad either. If anything, the wait staff was inexperienced but willing. I also don't think they had enough waiters...and they were disorganized...so long waits for food.

Where is there a hotel going up next to it? I only know about the bank.

They have a sign next to it that a Fairfield Inn is supposed to go in there.

I had a 30 + minute long call with owner who admitted major service / food issues. She said they actually removed some menu stuff because they just couldn't get it right. Great honesty from her. And I saw she really cared. Just staff left a bit to be desired and implementation.
