They're located at 905 East Bidwell in the old Orchard Supply Building.

Anyone try them yet?

I went to check it out. Nice store. Lots of fresh stuff. They have deli sandwiches for $3.99. Make fresh veggie juices daily. Some good prices on produce.

Friendly employees.

Lots of ready-made items, which seems to be where the Supermarket industry is heading.

Will have to check it out. Sounds good.

Steve, are the deli sandwiches pre-made, or made to order?

Thanks.

They had both. They had some basics, with some additional add-ons.

I haven't made them in years, but I would basically put would make some rice with sauteed onion, mushrooms, tomatoes and any other veg, and put into the peppers and bake until peppers soft.

My dad used to make a creole crab and shrimp stuffing and put that in 'em.

Here's my adaptation of a New Orleans recipe, Ken. They're not spicy and have a lot of flavor. I prefer red, orange, or yellow bell peppers to green; you can use what you like. I usually make these with ground turkey, but you can use ground beef if you prefer.

Deb's Stuffed Bell Peppers

8             med.       bell peppers (green, red and/or yellow)

1             lb.           ground beef or turkey

1             cup         diced onion

1             tbl.          minced fresh parsley

3             lg.           cloves garlic, minced

1/2         tsp.         dried thyme

3/4         tsp.         salt

1/2         tsp.         pepper

1/2         tsp.         basil

1/8         tsp.         cayenne pepper

1             1-lb.        can diced tomatoes with juice

2 1/2      cups        cooked rice

2             tbl.          Worcestershire

1/3         cup         freshly grated cheddar cheese

1/3         cups        grated Parmesan cheese

1.   Remove the top 1/4 of each pepper, remove veins and seeds, and rinse. Place peppers in a large skillet with 1/2” of water; cover tightly, bring to a boil, lower flame, and cook exactly 4 minutes. Remove peppers from pan with tongs, drain thoroughly

2.   Cook meat and onions until onions are tender; drain off grease.

3.   Add parsley, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, basil, and cayenne to meat and cook on low heat a few minutes.

4.   Add tomatoes, rice, and Worcestershire, and mix well, cover and simmer 10 minutes.

5.   Uncover, remove from heat, and stir in cheese.

6.   Spoon meat mixture into peppers and bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes.
