Detroit has really gotten back their wheels and is healthy too. Look for the Wings to end the Sharks season in 5 games.

RED WINGS at SHARKS
GAME 1 WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS 4/29/10
FINAL
Sharks-4, Red Wings-3
San Jose leads series 1-0
Three Stars
1. Pavelski (2 Goals, Assist, 5 shots)
2. Boyle (3 Assists, +1)
3. Datsyuk (2 Assists, +2)
The Sharks snapped a slide of four straight losses in series opening games, as their last win in the first game of a series was in 2007 against Detroit in the Western Conference Semi-finals.
The three goals by Pavelski, Heatley and Setoguchi in a span of 1:19 of the first period are the fastest three goals by the Sharks in San Jose Stanley Cup Playoff history. Pavelski tied a team record with two power play goals in a game and Boyle also tied a team record with three assists in a playoff game.
Another interesting note is this was the first Stanley Cup Playoff game in history with three different goal scorers from the same American university. Care to guess which school? Try Wisconsin as Pavelski, Heatley and Rafalski are all Badgers and put the puck in the net tonight.

RED WINGS at SHARKS
GAME 2 WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS 5/2/10
FINAL
Sharks-4, Red Wings-3
San Jose leads series 2-0
Three stars
1. Pavelski (2 Goals, 1 Assist, +1, 11 Shots, 13/16 face-offs)
2. Heatley (3 Assists, 6 Shots)
3. Thornton (1 Goal, 1 Assist, 6 Shots, 10 face-off wins)
The Sharks beat the Red Wings in Game 2 with the identical winning score from Game 1. San Jose has scored at least four goals in each of the last four games and have at least two power play markers in three of the last four.
It is the first time the Sharks have led a series 2-0 since the Western Conference semi-finals in 2006 against Edmonton.
After scoring just one five-on-three power play goal the entire regular season, the Sharks have scored twice already in this series with a five-on-three advantage.
Pavelski becomes just the third player ever with three straight multi-goal Stanley Cup Playoff games and first since Mario Lemieux in 1992. Also, Pavelski fired eight shots on net in the third period (11 for the game) and both totals are new San Jose franchise records for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for shots in a period and a game. The Wisconsin product is making all Badgers proud, especially former Sharks Gary Suter and Tony Granato; probably not Rafalski though.

Hopefully the "home ice" advantage will play in Detroit's favor like it did for SJ tonight. Just awful how one sided all the calls were.

SAN JOSE – With a gold medal, a Hart Trophy and a load of other accolades, Joe Thornton has never been the other Joe with the Sharks until this year's playoffs.
All Sharks players are taking a back seat to Joe Pavelski in this postseason.
After Pavelski tied the score early in the third period with his second goal, Thornton ended his playoff drought by knocking in a rebound with 7:23 left that gave the Sharks a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night and a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinal series.
"Whatever planet he's on, I think everyone wants to get on it with him," Thornton said of Pavelski, who's in his fourth NHL season. "He's just been so consistent. He's been awesome. He really has been."
Thornton's one goal this postseason hasn't come close to matching Pavelski's NHL-leading nine. But it helped San Jose head to Detroit with home-ice advantage intact going into Game 3 on Tuesday night.
Pavelski scored two power-play goals to extend his goal-scoring streak to five games and set up Ryane Clowe's between-the-legs score to continue a breakthrough postseason for the player no longer known as "Little Joe."
"It's good to see pucks go in the net," Pavelski said. "It's good to work hard and get rewarded. It always feels good to chip in. There's a lot more to go, thoug

Go SHARKS...
Did you actually watch the game or do you just post these updates?

Of course we watch the games. I use to have season tickets when we lived in Santa Clara. I haven't been to to many games recently but do get down every once in awhile. They say things even out during a series. We will wait and see. I am from Michigan and use to be a Red Wings fan and have always liked the Wings, so don't get me wrong. I am just a Sharks fan now since coming to California after retiring from the Navy in 1983.
Again, go Sharks... I think it is our turn. Detroit has been there to many times.

Anyway we took in the third game and it was delayed so we didn't get to see it until it was half over. The Sharks were behind 3-1 and we rooted them on along with the others in the Sports Bar.
3-2 and then 3-3 and overtime. What can I say they won again 4-3, in Detroit.
Go Sharks...
