Before it was King's, it was a Dairy Queen, and I believe that is what it was originally built as.

The one slide from a coming soon website looks classy, I wil be interested in seeing what the place is like when they open.

No, it wasn't originally a Dairy Queen. It was originally a Pioneer Chicken, kind of like a KFC-caliber place.

I'd second wishing it had stayed a Dairy Queen.

Met some friends there for lunch today.

Still some kinks to work out (this is opening day, afterall) but all in all a good experience! Great beer selection, and the place is beautifully decorated. I can't believe what they've done with the space, it really does seat a ton of people.

Will certainly be back!

It kinda sounds like they are trying to emulate The Yard House a little bit. If you are ever in SoCal or now Arizona, visit The Yard House. It is the Mecca of beer in the US. Each restaurant has 130-200 different beers ON TAP! The food is pretty good too. They haven't made it to Northern California yet but I suspect it is just a matter of time.
Take a look through their website and you beer drinkers can drool a little.

I tried to go to the Yard House (in Glendale AZ) the night of the Van Halen concert. No dice on the way in. On the way out tried again. Food was all right, beer selection was high in number but low in variety I think, there were like a dozen brands of American pale ale.

They did have ABA on tap, which is rare indeed.

Holy cow, drove past this place again today and it was busy! Not bad for opening day...

I just popped in for a pint. Nice folks. Jennifer, a server who has worked at seemingly every place in town is there. She's still at MBV and Ernie's, but working Manderes, too.

I think I'll stop in for a quick one during the football game tomorrow night.

I had dinner there and two pints and liked it fine.

When are you gonna be there Steve? Halftime?

Spicy's low numbers somewhat mitigated by the fact that they have ABA on tap. But you probably wouldn't like it.

It depends on how my day goes. Usually, I like to see the second half at home.

Just being realistic & truthful.

Manderes has a very nice Ambiance: 3+ or even 4.
Food (2) & Service (-1) can be improved.

This place used to be a dump. A Great New Asset to Folsom!

Happy Holidays!

is Manderes now officiall open for good? are they open for lunch?

How could they have turned that building into something decent?? I figured they'd have to demolish that eyesore.

It is remarkably reborn. They aren't finished, as they will add decorative fencing and a patio.

Nice place. Check it out.
