My cat is super cute, and super soft!!

But she always comes up to me, and rubs against me, and meows at me as to say.... "pet me now! ..... I said NOW! .......... HELLOOOOOO..... I SAID NOW!"

So I do. wub.gif

The after 2-3 seconds, she almost rolls her eyes at me, and gives me a look like "don't touch me ever again" and walks off. evilguy.gif

AARRRGGGGGHHHHH!!! Either let me pet you.... Or leave me alone! cuss3.gif

And she does this 5 times a day.

Our little cat used to come up to you and just beg to be pet, then swipe at you when you touched her. She got over that now, though. I don't think her previous owners were very nice.

don't you guys realize

People own dogs, that's why they are man's best friend

Cats aren't owned, they tolerate the humans they exist with, if you feed them, they hang around.
I would rather be Backpacking

Yeah, but dogs smell so frakin' bad!! And they lick/slobber all over you. It is like having another kid!!

Cats are an independent pet, that makes you WORK for their love!

Cats are a lot like my personality.

Feed me, keep me warm, give me cool toys (that I will destroy instantly), pet me (but ONLY when I TELL you to), and then go away.

And they get away with that!! It is awesome!!

heh, we've got 2 dogs 2 cats and 2 kids (maybe I should call myself Noah?)

the kids are well behaved, the dogs too and they're useful for protecting the house and are fun to play fetch with and stuff

the cats, they think they own the place

one cat in particular we call the rooster and kamikaze kitty cause she wakes us up everyone morning at 6am and then darts at light speed in front of us everywhere we walk

crazy cats!

I prefer the undying love of a dog. And beside, cats are terrible as backpackers. I've had my dogs pack 10 beers on ice into the wilderness, now if that ain't a sign of man's best friend, i don't know what is. Try and get a cat to do that.

that is very true about dogs, my labrador is like my shadow, always follows me around and lays down where ever I'm at - she's one of the most loyal animals I've ever had

now I gotta hear more about your dogs packing those beers into the wilderness... how'd you do that? strap an ice chest to 'em?

Doggy packs. http://www.rei.com/product/759613
I put closed cell foam on the inside, 5 beers in each side, added ice and on we went.
Mine are a different style than the above link, but that's because mine are 20+ years old.

I will give you that!! My cat would suck at backpacking! And a dog would be very cool if I was into backpacking. smile.gif

I don't know, I do think a boy needs a dog.

Maybe one day I will try again with a good dog (that is NOT a puppy!) so Chris and our 8 year old can have a dog. They are dog people.

I just like my cat. tongue.gif

Careful with your dogs when backpacking. My dog went with me & friend to Panamint City in 2006 and her paws were really raw by the time we got out... lots of roads made of mine tailings and then snow that packed into ice between her toes. I don't know if she'd tolerate those lil boots they have the rescue dogs wear at ski resorts, but I'd consider using them if she would.
