Here is a report from Channel 10, it looks as though the owners might still be on the hot seat..

"ABC said about seven to 10 business days we'll get that license issued and you should have no problem," Jeff Back said.

The Backs later learned the transfer was being held up because of a fatal car crash last year involving a minor who had allegedly been served by the previous licensee.

"We really feel it's unfair to us that our new business should have to suffer for violations that happened with a previous owner," Gail said.

Exactly. This makes no sense to me. I do hope they get their license next week. In the mean time, we intend to go give them our business.

Was the owner(s) of the sports garage ever arrested and charged? I thought it was owned by one of the people who own that breakfast and Mexican restaurant nearby?

I don't know if anyone was arrested, but the guy you are talking about is Mario Astorga, who was a founder or co-founder of Q'bole, Mexquite, and The Sports Garage.

He's not involved with any of those any more, but does own Early Toast.

He was interviewed last year and said he had that the owner of the Garage had failed to remove his name as an officer of the company, but that he was no longer an owner.
