I'm looking for a good kid-friendly orthodontist in Folsom.

Any recommendations?

He's not in Folsom but we like Dr. Lyons in EDH.   He is very current on the latest techniques and is great with kids (and adults…I had braces a few years ago). His offices are in the Town Center near the movie theater and in Fair Oaks on Madison..

Our children's orthodontist came highly recommend -- but he isn't in Folsom. Dr. Hendrik Blom is in Fair Oaks and I can't say enough good things about him.

Dr. Dunbar on Hana Way in Folsom.  Also, if you have a choice, pick one close to your dentist; makes life MUCH easier during cleaning time!

Another vote for Dr. Lyon's.  We love him and his office.  The staff is wonderful and the office is a lot of fun for kids and adults.

I recommend you meet with several orthodontists to see who you like the best.  They will do a free consultation, and everyone but Dunbar (that I know of) does free x-rays to be used for the consult.

A lot of people also like Holt.  We didn't get a good vibe from him, but I know several people who love him.

I appreciate the responses, just very disappointed in the results.

4 recommendations for two orthodontists not in Folsom

1 recommendation for one in Folsom, and one slime job on the same guy.

I know the sample size is small, but statistically, only one orthodontist in Folsom with a 50/50 split.

I really don't want to spend time travelling to an Orthodontist outside of town.

I hate the amount of time I already spend driving commuting to & from work.

Here's another vote for Dr. Dunbar.  No issues or complaints with him or the staff. It's been a good experience.

My daughter started with Crystal Anderson in Folsom and we were happy with her, only moving to one in EDH because we get a discount through her dental hygienist stepmom.

We were not happy with Anderson, got a lot of attitude and she had the tendency to do what she wanted, instead of what we wanted.

???? I'm confused.  Are you referring to my comment about Dunbar charging for x-rays?  I wouldn't consider that "slimy".  Maybe not the smartest way to get clients, but certainly there is nothing wrong with it.

Also, I recommended Holt who is in Folsom.

As for distance, Dr. Lyons is probably 5 minutes from Folsom.  But if that's too much additional driving, I get it.  I just love to combine our ortho visits with a stop at Selland's.  :-)

Our daughter goes to Make a Smile on Bidwell for her braces. I wish I would have gotten a second opinion...she has had her braces on 2 years and is estimated another year...I guess Im not thrilled about this because she has several friends that have had their braces on/off within a year....The staff is super sweet, friendly and Dr. Jeff is quiet, pleasant.  Most of the time spent is with the techs anyway. The appointments are  usually right on time..I can not stress this enough-if you have an appointment try not to cancel it. This office is so booked solid that its not easy to get back in right away if you  must cancel.. I can appreciate you wanting to stay with a Ortho in Folsom, very convenient...
