Office of Public Affairs/Media Relations

California Department of Motor Vehicles

"Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) wants customers to be aware that the Folsom field office at 323 Bidwell Street will close its doors on March 30, 2016, so improvements can be made to the flooring and walls. The facility is expected to re-open for business onApril 25 at 8 a.m.

The lobby of the building will receive fresh paint and new flooring that will offer visitors a more durable and esthetically pleasing environment.

The DMV wants to remind customers that it offers many online services at www.dmv.ca.gov , which will save them a trip to a DMV field office.  A few of the convenient options include renewing a vehicle registration and driver license, completing a change of address, request a driver record, and making an appointment.

Customers will be redirected to the offices listed below until the project is complete:

·         Rocklin – 5245 South Grove Street, 9 miles away

·         Roseville – 151 North Sunrise Ave, 10 miles away

·         Carmichael - 5209 North Ave, 10 miles away

·         Sacramento- 4700 Broadway, 18  miles away"

I'm glad they're not closing permanently.

There will be no noticeable change in service!

Nor with the crowd that shows there: Entire families in their pajamas and bare feet in the middle of the day, stoners, homeless people, etc.

The DMV should have a page like "People of Walmart!"

Hey Steve, you left out an important detail, it's April 25 at 8 a.m., in 2019....!   It's the DMV you know, they move a little slower than most folks...   ;)   Chris

Seems like they were closed for a couple of weeks last year.  What gives?

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Reminder: if you're a AAA member, their office can do many DMV actions.
