FWIW the Lions were 4-0 in pre-season last year....it really means nothing at all.

I still think Alex Smith is trying to get his receivers killed. Hanging them out to dry over the middle is no way to treat Johs Morgan.

Dav the 9ers have had plenty of reasons and seasons to happy about, Detroit on the other hand....
My point is pre-season means nothing but I do think the 9ers will have a decent season.

I remember reading at draft time that the knock on Coffee was he was too easy to tackle. He was breaking tackles, running through and over people the other night.
Davis looked better than Hill or Smith, and Walker IMO, always looks better than Davis.

come on Steve, back to reality.
I'm a devout Raiders fan, but for years they have sucked.
I wouldn't be letting a 21-20 victory over the Oakland Losers go to my head quite so quickly if I were you.
I'm just hoping for another year that my team will beat the Bronco's so I don't have to put up with "neener neener" calls from my friend in Colorado.

I think Coffee is very good and showed it this week. Lots of good moves- He and Gore will make a good team if the QB gets it together
Another great day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

That being said, the 49ers have stunk since the day John York took over. The team that finished in last place under Joe Thomas' reign was better than the team York has created. The 49ers will never return to greatness until York is gone.

They need a QB. The running game is exciting but they need a decent QB if they are to have a chance. Go Niners!

Singletary taps Hill as QB starter
A day after he said he saw "nothing great" from either of his quarterbacks, Mike Singletary announced that Shaun Hill would open the season against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 13. Singletary cited Hill's leadership and his consistency as reasons for the decision. "He has a commanding presence about him," Singletary said. "When he gets in the huddle the guys have learned to rally around him."
Hill always has had a slight step on friend and competitor Alex Smith because he was the incumbent quarterback. When Singletary took over as head coach at midseason, his first order of business was pulling J.T. O'Sullivan and replacing him with Hill. Hill rewarded Singletary by guiding the 49ers to a 5-3 record after their bye week. Including two starts in 2007, Hill is 7-3 as a starter and has yet to lose a game at Candlestick Park.

Singletary taps Hill as QB starter
That ends the mystery, and it's good Singletary at last put the stake in the ground. Now, Hill can build on the leadership he started last season. They showed they can run but can they put the ball in the air and consistantly move the markers? IMO, that'll be Hill's challenge.

I agree with John, I think Coffee is going to make a lot of noise this year but they have no QB. I just dont think Sean Hill can take them them far in the playoffs if they make them at all
