Meeting up with someone next week and we're meeting halfway, which should be around the Sac State area. I haven't been to many of the places around there in years. Any suggestions?

Looks like their website is down, hopefully they're still around:

I've had pretty good experiences at the places below:
Cafe/Bakery: Etorre's on Fair Oaks (near Howe and Fair Oaks intersection)
Salad Bar: Fresh Choice on Howe at Howe/Fair Oaks int.
Greek: Opa! Opa! on J St
Chinese:Eastern Empire at Howe/Fair Oaks.
Can't go wrong at any of them, but the pastries at Ettorre's are excellent!

Also:
Boudin SF in Loemann's Plaza at Fair Oaks/Monroe intersection.
I haven't tried this one below, but if you are craving BBQ, you might try:
Eagle BBQ: http://www.gawkk.com...gle-bbq/discuss
It's located in the most unusual of places, the Shell station at Folsom and Howe/Power Inn.

It is not fancy at all, but the Great Wall BBQ on Howe, between Howe about Arden (by the Vietnamese place) is one of the original ones in Sacramento and really good. Or, it was. If it's still there. And also, I haven't personally been there in a LONG time, but the last report I heard from someone who ate there said it was still just as good as it was ages ago.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.

May be too far outside of Howe and Watt but consider Jamies at 427 Broadway http://www.jamiesbroadwaygrille.com/ Awesome food and service but get there by 1130 or go after lunch rush (12:45-1pm).

I think I'm going to do Hoppy. Isn't Hoppy where Merlino's was?
Jolene, we spent many a night at Great Wall in the dorms, we'd sit there for a couple hours and gorge ourselves before a night of drinking. Hoooboy.

If you have time for a long lunch, go to Casablanca (Fair Oaks and Watt). Superb Moroccan food.
Ditto to Lemon Grass.

If you're up for sushi, Tokyo Fro's is the best in Sacramento in my opinion. It's behind Safeway on Howe and Fair Oaks.

Chinois for excellent Chinese (Watt/Fair Oaks)
Tre for unique sandwiches, burgers, etc. (Howe/Hurley)
Mandango's for great sports bar atmosphere (Fulton/Hurley)
And as others suggested -- Lemon Grass is a sure bet. (Fair Oaks/Fulton)
I've worked in this area (Arden/Fulton) for about 15 years, and these are the places we frequent for lunch.
