My husband and I are considering going there for our anniversary on Tuesday. Since it's not inexpensive, I'm interested to hear any recent reviews.

There's a steakhouse on Sutter? Didn't know that. Sounds pretty good based on reviews on another popular website.
But, as a chef, I'm sure you could make steak just as well at home. Ever since I've been able to buy Prime grade ribeye and New York cuts, I've been disappointed ordering steaks at restaurants. Best case, restaurants are just as good but much more expensive. Worst case, not even close to be as good and still pricey.
When I do have some spare change to dine out, I try to eat what is either difficult to make at home and/or just not my forte (not that I'm a chef or anything). Like BBQ (brisket smoked for hours and hours, baby back ribs with a thick smoke ring and just dry-rub, French cuisine, etc). Especially keen on places where they house-make special desserts. Yum!

We want to be fairly close to home and we haven't been to the steakhouse yet. Looks like a nice place.

The way you describe the experience sounds like my wife!
Most folks I know who've been there liked it. My bro in law is a regular. He loves the quality, the service and the ambiance.
I've only had drinks there. Nice place but pricey.

That sounds nice... If you go, give us your take -- it might be a good option when we have to take guests out.
Hmm, for some reason, I feel like having a steak now..... With some roasted Yukon Golds on the side. Okay, gotta run to the store for sec....

Thank you very much, it is our 57th by the way.
ChefRaven, your report. I think you should go, you will enjoy it.
We like to eat early so we went at opening time which is 4:30. There was only one other couple there when we arrived, but soon after the place started filling up. There were four in our party. We received a very friendly greeting, were seated immediately. The service was prompt and excellent. The food was very much to everyone's liking and it was a most enjoyable evening. We each had something different and all enjoyed it immensely. We were too full for dessert and we didn't mention our anniversary so we don't don't what they might have offered, but we wouldn't have had room for anything more.
So go and enjoy and Happy Anniversary.

We'll definitely go back. I'm glad we have a place like that in Folsom.

We had raw oysters, a salad, 14 oz ribeye with lobster tail,. veal chop special, 5 cocktails between the two of us and split a dessert. With a 20% tip, it was just at $200. Pricey but not prohibitive if you do it once in a while.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice night out.

Nice! Sounds like a spot to keep under consideration. Thanks for the write-up.

I met my brother at 6 pm, his treat for my birthday, and the place was already packed out. Even though it seemed to be a near full house, with the bar going full blast, the ambiance and setting was beautiful. We were near the window looking out towards the lake.
The service was excellent & the steak was melt in my mouth good. I had the 6 oz filet, with their standard mashed potatoes, and a spinach salad. My brother had the skirt steak special (I don't remember the details as it was very long & detailed), and the wedge salad. We had dessert also. He had the Warm White Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream which he raved about, and I had the expresso gelato - delicious!! All of the food was fantastic.
This place is definately a keeper. I don't know what the total bill was, but I don't care, I will most certainly return.
