I miss being able to drive across Dam Road, stopping at the parking lot to admire the view.

I miss this also. It is a shame that such a great place is now closed.

When Folsom Blvd. out to Highway 50 was just a two lane road with a canopy of trees.

Yes! I was just thinking about that!

Anybody remember the Dutch Treat restaurant in the old box cars? You had to call in to reserve a special before they ran out. Dick was a lot of fun.

I miss "The Bank Club". Best bar this town had. (I used to store my pool cue there)

I miss when you used to park for free by the edge of the dam.

I miss Food Source (they had some things I just can't get at Winco).

I miss working in town, now I'm driving 13 miles up US-50 to go to work.

I miss gas <$2.00/gallon
I would rather be Backpacking

I miss the outdoor ice skating rink that they used to have every year on Sutter Street, it made those cold Winter nights so fun!

Wow, someone else in Northern California who knows what a Tommyburger is (or was). Tommy's, (the original on Rampart ) had the best chilicheesebugers you can imagine, particularly if you were drunk or stoned (not that I ever was)

+1

Tommy's or Boca del Rio burrito's.

Gosh, the Bank Club was the BEST. Groucho used to hang out there and many other old-time "prison guards" before they were called Correctional Officers.

When I worked swingshift, I used to go there everynight after work to shoot pool, have a few beers, and watch Ole Cyrus come in to close the bar and count his cash.

I miss walking over to the old flea market on Sutter Street when it drew 40,000 people and walking all over seeing really neat things, like the old mountain rendezvous guy who had his space up by clouds. and before that, back in the 60s, I miss the Buckboard Drive In down on Sutter Street across from the Chan's market. I also miss how they used to put a big christmas tree a rancher would cut down and donate inside the manhole in the middle of the intersection at Sutter and Riley. They lit it up very simply and it was beautiful.

i miss a lot. it's not the same any more. people are the biggest change. judgemental and often concerned with money more than community, although they pretend to be just the opposite.

Tommy's, the Chili-Cheeseburgers Place, on the corner of Beverly & Rampart or Philippes, the home of the French Dip Sandwich, on Ord & Alameda in LA.

When "Scott Road"...now E. Bidwell...was just a two lane road out to Highway 50.

The OLD Lucky's grocery store...before the DMV and the skating rink.

Model Pharmacy

When the only traffic light was located on Sutter Street.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I miss being able to drive the ENTIRE city of Folsom in less than 10 minutes. When getting off Highway 50 you had to slow down and look for that "secret" entrance into Lexington Hills that's now the college rd. If you missed it... you had to go all the way to the stoplight... boy that seemd like such a long drive back then!!! Probably because it was desolate, peaceful and sureal 'til you got there!! OHHHHH.. I miss the old Folsom!

I miss Gordon Brong letting my brother and I hold and play with the baby bear cubs, Sampson and Ennis and petting the deer at the Zoo.
I miss the corndogs at the Buckboard, Patsy's Soda Shop, Peppermint Patty's candy shop.
But most of all, I miss my wonderful grandparents Dan and Louise Welty, who opened the Sutter Street Gaslight Theater in 1962 and ran it until 1980. They were instrumental in revitalising this once run down tumbleweed of a town. Ironically, I didn't move to Folsom until they had both passed on, but my memories of weekends and summers here remain and I feel I am inextricably linked to Folsom and it's history because of the love they had for this town, and all the work they put into it.
