We went to the Vietnamese Shopping Section on Stockton Blvd by 65th Street. That shopping area is booming. There are many restaurants, shops to choose from.

I've been by twice recently for live crabs and clams. It does seem to be bustling.

I think some of the stores could use a coat of paint and some sprucing up, but they seem to be doing pretty well.

There's a great Mexican grocery, La Superior, on Stockton north of Fruitridge. I love it. Great butcher section!

I don't see any Mexican shop at all along Stockton. biggrin.gif

I cook axx kicking taco, and spagettie at home.

Are you going to show me how to cook more Mex dishes?

Oh yeah. I'm not Mexican at all (both sides of my family came from England back in the 1600s), but Chicago has one of the largest Mexican American populations in the country. (Don't know specifics.) Lots to absorb from my friends and co-workers.

From the Vietnamese place, go North on Stockton. Pass Fruitridge on the left-hand side of the street will be La Superior. I'll be making the trip from Folsom unless I can find a good Latin market out there.

By the way, are there any Cuban groceries around these parts?

LOVE to cook... hey, I think I'm going to start a recipe exchange on here!

La Superior is, well, Superior! Great market, friendly employees, fresh seafood, meat and produce, and hard-to-find-items.

You two get me so tempted to go and visit La Superior. Never been to a Mex supermarket before. Worth the try.

When I was single and lonely biggrin.gif , food, cooking, and working out were my constant companion.
