Christmas time is here, and Folsom does it right! Kicking things off tonight is our annual tree lighting celebration.

Taking place at the amphitheater in the Historic District, this family-friendly event features, train rides, visits with Santa, face-painting, caroling and more!  Be sure to visit the Greater Folsom Partnership booth for treats and a great photo spot.

The fun goes from 6 to 9, with the tree lighting at 7 30.  Parking available at the garage at 905 Leidesdorf.

Another can't-miss event is Folsom Zoo Sanctuary's annual 'Wild Nights and Holiday Lights'.  The zoo comes alive with thousands of lights, and an enchanted forest of lit trees, giving visitors the unique opportunity to see the zoo animals at night. I also hear that Santa Paws will be there!

You can also catch a ride on the mini-train Starlight Express.

Wild Nights runs from 5 to 8pm on December 1, 2, 8, 9, the 15th through 23rd, and again the 26th through 30th.

Admission is $7, with train rides going for $5.

The 50th annual Historic District Christmas Crafts fair comes to Sutter Street December 2nd. There will be 200 vendors featuring hand-crafted treasures, along with food trucks and live music.

So, get yourself in the holiday spirit and head out for some true Christmas cheer, Folsom style.
