Hey folks, there's a new "5 star" rating system on selected forums. If you like the topic, go ahead and vote on it. It's a new feature.

It's on the top of the thread, under "Rating"

John, this is a great idea.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Not sure... I don't think so. I'm sure there is a way to see the most highly rated topics though, I'll try and find out where it is.

Is there a description for the number of stars?

I offer this star description:

5 stars -- Way cool! Everyone should enjoy this topic!
4 stars -- Interesting indeed. Should be interesting to the masses, but you could live without.
3 stars -- Moderately interesting. Regular folsom forum readers may enjoy this divergence from their normal life.
2 stars -- Interesting to only a few. Some may even prefer that they hadn't read it.
1 star -- OMG not another one of these topics. Stay away. Trust me, you have something better to do with your life than read this topic.

Jason

Maybe I'm missing something here. Where's the place to rate the topic?

I see stars, but no option to add my vote.

So would any of you actually read a topic only because it was rated highly or avoid one others found not as interesting? I read the subject header and if it is of interest to me, I'll read it regardless of how others feel about the topic and vice versa. I'm not sure exactly how people will use these ratings.

I see a rating at the top with the number of stars lit up, but no option to add my 2 cents -- no clickable areas or responses when I click on the box or on the stars. Maybe it's just a setting I have disabled sad.gif
