This just in:

The Folsom Pro Rodeo will celebrate 55 years of family entertainment and fireworks. But for
the welfare of the public, the Folsom Cattle Drive has been cancelled due to weather forecast for.
Wednesday.

“We feel the safety of the public especially children and seniors who love to watch this
annual tradition is vital so we are addressing this issue proactively,” said Folsom Pro Rodeo
Spokesman Dan Haverty.

The forecast is calling for calmer temperatures on Thursday, July 2, as the Folsom Pro Rodeo
kicks off with performances July 2, 3 and 4. The Folsom Chamber of Commerce invites fans to
celebrate the holiday by enjoying rodeo action, motocross and spectacular nightly fireworks.

Rodeo fans can stay cool this year with Big Fogg, a 15’ x 15’ high pressure, water conserving,
inflatable mister. Fans can also enjoy additional shade and access to the tree-covered Folsom
City Park. Reserved seat holders are reminded they can enjoy the shade in the park as long as
they like and their prime viewing seats will be waiting for their arrival.

“We are providing opportunities for our fans to beat the heat and enjoy the Folsom Pro Rodeo
which has been a Folsom tradition for 55 years,” said Haverty. “There might even be a squirt
gun fight or two in the stands.”

The "calmer temperatures" for Thursday will be around 100 degrees.  That's Folsom talk!

"We feel the safety of the public especially children and seniors"... True, but I would have liked if they had also made reference to the well-being of the cattle.

Thanks.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-
